So for PS+, they list 4 games free for plus members (Uncharted 3, XCOM, LBP Karting, Machinarium). Is it where you can only choose 1 of those games? PS+ is $40 this week I read somewhere at best buy, and wondering how + works

No, thats just whats available for free this month, they rotate in new games (I believe it's every month) and you can snag all of them, which you should so you don't lose the chance when they rotate them out.

Uncharted and Xcom are gonna be free for a whole year so you have time to get them.
You can also always sub to PSN+ and snatch any free games before they go away from the online store. You don't have to download them to get them, just have to "purchase" them for free.
