I'm in the same boat, but I've been seeing if there was a fix. I'm sure their working on it.
There are a few key differences in my opinion. Cupper is completely open source and the source code is always included with every release. Cupper is under active development and already has a lot of features that aren't/weren't in Clipper. Cupper can be discussed outside of e-mail/PM and active releases are (or at least will be) posted on Guildworks regularly from Keevon or via the #cupper hashtag.
There was a new release of Cupper (including the full source code) tonight. The new features included are:
- Full support for multiple characters from a single application window. This includes separate active settings for each character that are properly displayed when switching between characters.
- Automatic saving and loading of character settings when opening and closing Cupper.
- Proper movement speed adjustment when Flee is active.
This is on top of the already existing functionality such as:
- Support for a customizable exclusions list that allows for rules about the current zone as well as other players.
- The ability to enable auto-disable for ja0wait.
- A text status notification that informs you whether or not auto-disable has been triggered, and if so what caused it to trigger.
The other features and improvements that were listed earlier in the thread are still in-progress and since this is a brand new release there will probably be some bugs so please don't delete your existing versions and report back here or on Guildwork with any issues.
Update: Got some bug reports back about crashes while zoning. I believe those issues are all fixed now and a new version with source code has been released on GW via Keevon.
Just tested the new version, works fantastic so far. Love all the customization options.
Same here. Happening to me with just the basic stuff (cancel, silence, tpparty, timestamp, etc.) + the latest versions of spellcast and recast.
When I crash this way, it takes forever to log back in, as I get some message about my character still being online, which I've never seen before.
The only plugins in use you mentioned was timestamp and tparty. I rarely use spellcast because frankly, I think it takes away from the game. I don't want to be so lazy that I don't pay attention to different instances that I might use a different piece of gear. With that being said, I have two characters and occassionally I get DC on one, but not the other when zoning. The reason why it takes longer to log back in is because you still still show up in game. The only reason you are getting disconnected from the game is because windower crashed. So the SE servers have to register that you're not actually playing the game anymore, and need to remove you from the server.
Did you update while sandboxed? I may or may not have done this *cough*. It causes the damnedest issues.
I believe the only known issue as this point is BlinkMeNot crashing on some commands.
Nothing else is being looked into as far as crashing.
Yes absolutely, I didn't even realize that it wasn't working there but I should be able to test it out later this evening. I've also posted a new release (with source code) to GW that includes all of the fixes for crashes that people were experiencing earlier (the same post from earlier by Keevon). Anyone who modified their exclusions.xml in previous builds will need to move those changes over to exclusions section of the cupper.xml file which is the only settings file that will be used from now on.
Are they sure the crashes are coming from cupper, or from something else? I experience zone crashing with or without cupper.
I've also had some crashes without Cupper running but there were definitely a few times with it running recently where it would crash frequently on Mog House zoning, I put up a new release on GW that should fix those issues.
Update: Looks like people are still having random crashes while running Cupper, and potentially more frequently than they would otherwise. I'll be looking into it more tomorrow but it's probably safest not to run Cupper while zoning, although you'll probably still have a crash or two with just Windower.
I'm having those crashes too, takes forever for my character to get kicked afterwards.
I'm having them too, seem to come in succession on the same character like 2-3 times then stop for a while and randomly strike another char.
Having a lot of crashing issues, also Cupper is having issues with movement speed, specifically while dualboxing.
I'm in the same boat with the random crashing on zoning issue. Ive ran windower without any plugins loaded, or any other programs running alongside windower and still get the issue. As people have previously said, it is extremely frustrating trying to log back in.
Is everyone with this issue running the latest version of windower?
Well the "windower" version hasn't changed in like two years, so seems unlikely.
Dunno if this is fixed in Cupper, but I have a version of Framerate's Clipper from two-three days ago that has some trouble with ignoring Bind. Sometimes it ignores it fine, other times I can only take a couple steps at a time.
