Took me over 30 to get Genta Hara-ate, you're just getting the shit end of the RNG.
I have Namru's Crackows and got them from Bhaflau, so I also believe that they drop there.
While i have'nt got any boots in 60(nq)+60(hq)kills i got 5 genta body, 2 idi body , 3 Morrigan body. Ok this does'nt prove anything.
I have basic probability math knowledge and going 0/120 on a 6.8% 11.4% drop seems very low.
Honestly i'm not really bitching because i need them and i'm not trying to obtain them.
I got every single piece like 10times+ and none of this one.
Maybe because they only drop without TH or something. After reading other awnsers i'll assume they do drop but i would estimate a lower drop% then 11.4% and 6.8%
Except ffxidb is based on data taken directly from guildwork plugin, its not up for dispute and your personal experience is a minute sample size that means nothing.
The drop rates are exactly what ffxidb says they are
Kinda lazy to read through 100 pages- I've been hearing varied claims as to the effectiveness of Skillchains and Magic WS spam on Orthrus Seether's PDT. Wondering if it's worth doing either one at all. Well, skillchains probably worth doing either way since it's free damage.
Planning to take on Hydra or Dvergr soon for gear and I wanted to make sure I have some clue what I'm doing. Setup is MNK WHM and a two-boxed THF. On bosses, I normally just get TH on and then leave the THF out so I can focus on curing.
Hydra - Turtle up in PDT gear, have Holy Water for curse
Dvergr - MNK subs /NIN for shadows, Sacrifice/Erase Mag. Def. Down and be ready for big nuke after, Holy Water for curse move
Anything I'm missing? Is one obviously easier than the other or is it luck-based? Haven't had problems with Cerb or Khim, but these two sound worse.
I havent done dvergr since the patch, but you shouldnt need /nin. Just have to be on the ball with cursna/cure for necropurges. Safest bet is to cure4 when u see it (stoneskin), cursna, then cure up. Reliance on shadows for it will be iffy at best since it induces para / it can cast aga afterwards.
Unless your mnks a taru, you should have enough hp w cureskin to survive any nuke
Hydra is harder of the 2 if you have a good MDT/MDB set on mnk and are fast with sacrifice. Dvergr is generally very easy and dies very fast but he has a couple of tp/spell combos that have the potential to kill you from full hp if you are slow to react. /nin will help with general damage mitigation but its not really an issue, whats likely to kill you will be a tp move that wipes shadows and paralyzes you, then nukes you while cursed.
Hydra is just an endurance test if you play defensive, try to be mindful of whm enmity and kite it if you run out of mp. /nin is probably a good idea here and can help avoid dispel on trembling.
There was speculation earlier that path choice possibly impacted the drops obtained from the bosses on certain remnants II areas. Just playing devil's advocate here, but if this was the case, FFXIDB numbers could only show a cumulative total of all recorded path selections and wouldn't necessarily apply to specific cases.
Also agree that the statistical significance is not high compared to FFXIDB, but at the same time, the odds of going 0/120 on a 7% drop (assuming 120 is correct) are 1 in 6000. Not impossible, I guess, but....
Had a pair of those drop off of Seether alongside Morri 45 Head. Did the Usukane plan path, if that helps!
In ZR can u do both Archaic Gears NM's on 3F from both Pugil an Diremite Ramparts? or can only do one?
Help!
Been trying to trio ZR2 and failing miserably.
Tried SAM/WAR (Murasamameru), THF/DNC and SCH/RDM. Skipped the chariots floors. Managed to kill NQ Hydra but then we got to HQ Hydra and it was a mess.
THF got one shotted by Trembling and SAM just couldn't keep up with the Hydra's regen. I was the SCH and couldn't do much other than spam cures. Fought it on the back, and saw all moves, Nerve Gas, Scorching Slash, Trembling and Bullwarks, you name it. What are we doing wrong? SAM could switch to MNK or WAR and SCH could come WHM or RDM, what should we do? THF is pretty standard THF with no NNI gear whatsoever. What's the secret of taking down the Hydra on a trio setup?
Every time I've done it I counterstance tank on one of its feet. I don't know if tail tanking it will keep it from using its other TP moves, but you can't break the heads from the back and you'll have to deal with Serpentine Tail as well. I always go with a WHM, and the THF is dualboxed so it just sits off to the side. You'll have enough trouble keeping your tank alive, and the extra TP from the THF poking it isn't doing you any favours.
Have you countertanked it after the last patch, because I remember Trembling doing ~1500 damage on a countertanking MNK before the patch, which I guess isn't an issue if you're Galka, but I can't imagine it's a really good idea now.
Personally, every time I've done ZR2 with WAR+THF+WHM it has been a disaster. It's basically completely up to the random number generator if we win or not, because sometimes he just decides to be a dick and do shield multiple times in a row and there's nothing to do about it. A MNK could probably try to Formless it but you run the risk of getting dispelled by Trembling. I can't imagine a trio allowing the SCH to have time to swap to Dark Arts and throw some nukes either.
Yessir, in TP gear I eat them for around 1700. Trembling has never killed me, but unlucky triple attacks that get through counterstance have. I take way too much melee damage on the bosses to not use Counterstance, though. I'm a Hume; in TP gear I have ~2200 HP. I don't get Trembling'd often, either.
