Salvage II - Slavage Harder

We got NQ Khim without clearing chariots. Well we killed 2 + Armored Chariot and then popped Khim. Not what you asked I know, but kinda related.

Maybe one of the chariots is a trigger? Cause the only thing we did different yesterday from today was killing all the chariots before engaging rampart. Could be one of the 8 is the trigger?

See if I was to hazard a guess, I would say that killing the old Salvage bosses was the trigger but that would be a complete guess based on nothing other than 'It seems logical'.

Has anyone killed the old salvage bosses on a run and then had the NQ not pop? Or had them pop without touching the old bosses?

Did that yesterday, killed the 3+armored, and wound up with a chariot on the rampart. The only difference between my run today and yesterday was we killed 2 of the ramparts that pop gears on 5f instead of wiping (we still killed 1 set), and we killed all 8 chariots + armored before engaging rampart on 6f.

Also, Spoilia seems to be on a random pair. Yesterday we entered on Earths, got to that floor on watersday, and the pair was Fatedealers. Today we entered on Waters, engaged on Winds, and the pair was the Dartists.

Check it out and verify/fill in any missing details if you can. I'm sure there are a couple other kinds of Troll monsters on 2F on the west side that I'm not aware of.

Also, what does Archaic Gears (not Gear singular) NM drop on 4F east? Has anyone popped it yet? I assume it's for killing both tri-gears simultaneously.

It only got 2 singles > possible gear NM? > LBC > 2 acro > acro NM > 3 triple gear > rampart > NQ cerb afaik

yeah when I went east, was just 2 singles, killed them and another single popped, named the same doesnt look like nm till you kill it and it drops a plan.

People with or without 4th floor cerbs, did you kill all the single gears in the south or north entry rooms?
both ramparts on both sides?
Killed every single gear triple gear that spawned from these 2 ramparts?
killed the lbc?


west side floor 3 has puppet trolls, unlocked CHA.
the east side nm gear dropped 1x ritual for me.

All of my SSRII runs have had the NQ up. Both with and without popping old boss. And I sneak by all ramparts on the NQ boss floor, so I'm thinking that for those who haven't had it up, it might have been like the Abyssea Cavernous Maws not showing up.

also learned that you can pop LAC on either east or west side, but only once.

Found a great way for killing the gears that the ramparts pop on East/West 3F!! there is a way so you only have to kill them one at a time. It differs according to which side you are on.

West side: as soon as you enter the room go left or right along the wall to the closest pillar to the rampart. It will not aggro you. provoke it and only the Gears and the rampart will attack you. The three singles stay unaggro'd in a line. you don't have to pull back. you can voke them one at a time from that pillar and they won't link. If that is deemed the near side (where you enter) then go to the far side and do the same thing for the other two ramparts.

East side: when you enter the room, go to the center of the room and then go left or right to the sides. the gears line up opposite in this room than West side, so you have to do the same thing from the side walls instead of the near/far side.

As for wiki update: please make the following changes:

2F: Ashu Talif Crew PLD (i'm assuming PLD since it casts flash) unlocks STR MP VIT
Ashu Talif Crew THF (RNG? it has a dagger) unlocks HP AGI
Ashu Talif Crew RDM unlocks CHR

3F: Psycheflayer (North) unlocks weapons and ranged

Dverger: dropped Neit's Pigaches and Ate's Cuirass

Considering I'm dual boxing on two different computers, I highly doubt the rampart didn't show up on both of my characters.

Note that in AR there are 7? chariots not 3 (2 in each of the small rooms). Maybe that affects whether khim pops (higher chance the more you kill?).

3/3 on cerbs now, not going to do anything different than what I'm doing until I fail to pop it. Been going west pretty much the entire way, full clearing anything in the path. Went north west on the troll floor. Only thing I can confirm about the 3 gears before cerb is that I'm not killing them at the same time, nothing special at all going on with them.

You chose west on F1 as well? Your first two runs you went East every time, right?

While this isn't proof and could easily just be coincidence, both times my group did Arra, we killed all four chariots in the center and all four chariots in the side rooms before engaging the Rampart. Khimaira popped both times.

Same thing for us, it also dropped usu 45 feet as well to add

In SSR2 we didnt kill the old salvage boss and the NQ popped. Funny enough we would have killed it, but we never saw it.

We did not kill LAC and still popped the NQ on the fourth floor in SSR II.

The chariot was my guess as well. It very well could be that if you don't kill it, the chance of NQ boss popping on second last floor is much less (or instead, not guaranteed). Has anyone killed the chariot and not gotten a pop?

Are you referring to just SSR or any area?

Chariot on the rampart means he didn't pop Khimaira (pops Chariot instead of Khim if you don't get Khim), so he killed Armored there and still didn't get Khim.
