Doing Zhay II as we speak and it could not be clearer that the NQ Hydra pop condition off the 6F rampart is NOT random. Just to do a test, we went in the opposite order of someone else in this thread and killed the south ramparts first, then went around north, leaving a few of the single gears, and pulling the Rampart (killed the 2 south ramparts, 3 of the singles, and all 4 north triples first). It would not use Reinforcements. Had it follow us around for some time, continued using random TP moves. As soon as we finished killing all of the gears in the main room, the very first TP move it used was Reinforcements (Hydra). Did not kill side rooms. Spawn condition for NQ Hydra off the north rampart is almost certainly clearing the main room of Archaic Machinery. May have some precondition from prior floors (killed all other NMs on the way up, but didn't really clear out any floors).

I didnt think to take a screeny but I got 2x Idi's gloves off NQ khim 2 days ago.

Also, NQ khim can suck a nut. Ive now gone 5 runs without penultimate floor khim pop. Popped on my 1st run and never again since. Kiled gears, killed chariots, killed nothing. Stupid thing is pissing me off. 1st run that it popped on, killed a handful of single gears and teh armored ramp and it popped. Since then ive killed few gears+armored. Few gears+no chariots. Few gears+main room of chariots(armored last), 12/16 gears+armored, handful of singles+all 4 ramparts and reinforcement gears+archaic. I dont know wtf is up with this thing.

We just got NQ Khim (if the random chance theory is true it probably means nothing) on w/e floor, we only cleared the NMs that were pretty obviously there + AC. None of the 8 gear ramparts, just one room of gears. It took a good 30-50 seconds to use reinforcements, though.

fulm itself is a bitch regardless, just wear partial DT gear (i got 26%DT + cap haste still with catastrophe) and let whm stay away from chim 30' and come in to just cure/paralyna

also best to turn away (even tho the strong para gotta hinder you anyway) when he fulm to let whm come in paralyna/cure V and get out before he build enough TP again

using this tactic, however, makes tourbilion a trouble cos of knockback, def down......... dual boxing whm on chim is just busy >.>

as for NQ pop condition, so far i just keep sticking to my plan: kill all NM (you need the papers anyway, and bonus alex), didnt clear all machnes as well, just enough for unlocks, cleared 6F entirely and it always spawns so far (3/3 only tho)

If it is archaic machinery kills, has anyone cleared 5th floor, or killed 1-2 ramparts, cleared 6th floor, and not had khim pop? The first run we did, we killed 2/4 ramparts. The second run we killed all 4.

We did AR again tonight, cleared all the gears that are up on 5F and cleared all the chariots on 6F before claiming the rampart. Khim did not pop.

So you did not kill any of the ramparts on the 5th floor then? I'm wondering if people have killed 2+ ramparts on the 5th floor, plus all the stuff on the 6th floor, and not had khim pop.

I think we can at least surmise that the NQ pops are not random because zhayolm's pop is definitely not random. It's possible SE would make 1-2 remnants random, but it seems odd that they would make 3 of them random, unless they want everyone spamming ZR for alex.

Not sure about lower floor gears, Acroliths yes. We didn't do any Ramparts on 5F. Last time we did and it popped 8 gears we got raped. We only run with THF MNK and me dualboxing WHM. Ahh sorry. Missed the part where you said clearing 5F.

Khim NQ hits me a lot harder than Khim HQ, for the record. I think they might have reversed the stats.

I find the NQ Cerb a lot harder than the HQ Cerb too. As far as I can tell Acheron Flame/GoH from HQ Cerb doesn't hurt as much as the GoH from the NQ Cerb.

I wasn't really paying much attention to cures on my mule and our RDM took care of it just fine, it didn't seem like much. It only got Fulm off once (NQ and HQ) and when it did it didn't do more than 500 damage... and Regen 5 took care of any damage taken as long as I was in a PDT set. Only annoying part was the TP Reset. >_>;;

Again, if it's random it probably means nothing... but we only killed AC on F6. Also didn't bother with any of the 8 gear ramparts because we didn't think we'd have the time.

Edit: I'd also like to point out Rag WAR seems like absolute shit for this, I can't get my attack high enough to mean anything since we don't bring a BRD and my Ukon's still only 90 because I'm lazy and it's pissing me off to no end.

Khimaira Prideleader can use Lithic Breath. I'm not sure if it's at low HP or any HP, but I wasn't really expecting that.

Also, it can be gravity-d. <.<

They both can use Lithic Breath I'm pretty sure, let me double check logs real fast. We also weren't able to lock either into using Plague Swipe. NQ kept turning around, HQ just used Fulm regardless.

Edit: Just kidding, was only Fossilizing Breath on the NQ.

I'll help you out here broski:
when the gears pop, make sure your monk has haste from the rampart, not the thief, and run away. the gears will slowly come piling in as they aggro the rampart and you just countertank em all. If I can 2box it mnk+whm, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine mnk+thf+whm.

That's weird. Just cleared AR again and this is how it went...

1st: Skipped chigoe (cleared a wing it wasn't on and thought screw it)
2nd: 2 lamia's, 4x Gears, NM Gear
3rd: Acrolith NM, gear, NM Gear
4th: 3 Flytraps, 2 Acroliths, NM Acrolith, 2 Dartists, SMN(in the way), 2 Fatedealers, Spoilator (popped when the 2nd fatedealer went down)
5th: All the single pre-popped gears. No ramps and no triples. Just the singles.
6th: NQ Chariots > Armored Chariot > Ramp > NQ Khim (gote)
7th: HQ Khim (purse + namru's tiara)

EDIT: Did you clear the gears in the room that QQA is in old AR and the 4 in the big room with the ramps as well?

Just to add to the info really. Two of us went in and messed around last night with a dboxed healer. Didn't open all runic lamps.

Floor 1: Chigoe NM
Floor 2: 2 lamia, gears and gear NM
Floor 3: West/South, farmed some traps but didn't kill any NMs
Floor 4: South, 2 x Acro + Acro NM
Floor 5: Killed some single gears only. Popped reinforcements on a rampart for triples but ported up
Floor 6: Rampart only, no pop
Floor 7: NQ Khim (got fulm x2 to the face and timed out)

So we didn't pop much. Pretty much wasted too much time on the first floor and were just learning what happened where. Do we know why some lamps were on when we zoned up and some weren't?

Lamp unlocks are determined by the amount of monsters you killed and whether they unlocked anything. They turn off when everything is used up (or if there isn't anything to use to begin with).

Also, I've seen HQ Khimaira every time in Arrapago. We go as WHM, SCH, THF, DNC, MNK. Our path has pretty much been:

Floor 1: Unlock things as needed. I pull Lamia on my mule while auto-attacking things so we don't have to go out of the way. Locate the Chigoe and clear that wing. I port NE for no reason in particular.
Floor 2: Kill the two Lamia, gears, and NM.
Floor 3: Get stats from Flytrap, then go North, kill Acrolith. Kill gear, kill gear NM in teleporter room. (We went South one time).
Floor 4: Acrolith and NM, Lamia COR/RNG as needed to pop NM, Lamia NM. (The time we went South we didn't pop the Lamia NM).
Floor 5: Kill all single gears and NE corner ramparts and the pops. (The time we went south we killed all of the Ramparts.)
Floor 6: Chariot x3, Armored Chariot, Khimaira from Rampart. (The time we ported south we only killed Armorer because we were low on time.
Floor 7: HQ, yay.

As much as I'd love to figure out the spawn conditions in particular, I'd really rather not try to make it not pop. I really hope they add the updated version to the test server soon.

pretty sure if you dont kill any pathos removal mobs on one floor, your lamp will be inactive the next.
