try doing what i do. on the 3rd floor NW skip the first room of gears, kill the second room of gears. skip the big room. kill the three gears in the center, then port up east skipping that big room. on 4th floor, provoke one, aggroing the other and tank both at the same time. when the one you are killing is down to 25% switch to the other one. kill it and then finish off the original one. has worked for me every time.

That's a lot of Acroliths across the whole floor from ramparts which don't normally spawn them. Maybe you do really need to link to spawn Acroliths?

Edit: was already confirmed by Radec in a previous post. But yeah, that's a good portion of the floor that can spawn Acroliths - interesting for Alex farming since they all have a ~10% purse chance.

Today, I did Fly x1 / pudding x1 / gob x2 / dahak x2, same for second floor, skipped 3rd with no aggro, didn't get NM D:. I might have been mistaken about popping gear NM without killing anything on floor 3. It seems like you have to kill something on floor 3, maybe you have to light up the lamp on floor 4 or something? I'll do a few more runs without aggroing gears on floor 3 and see if I can get the gear NM to spawn.

Killed the two gears on 4th floor fleeing to porter (MNK/THF lol). Still had flee up for a few seconds so I ran to the gear room on 4th floor pretty quickly (with melee strikes this time) and killed them in less than 2 minutes. I saved about 10 minutes skipping a fly and gob on floor 1, got up to floor 4 around 35~40 minutes in zone I think.

Edit* didn't kill gear NM, dunno why I said I did (I meant the two single gears on floor 4)

did 3 zhalyom and didnt like it..... no equip cells till late.... mobs hit hard.... mobs evasive.....

no SalvII drops listed, and there are 6(1f frog, 2f gear, 3f end room + rampart, 5f mamool + chariot) page NM's already (7 I guess since I think you can do both rampart NM's on 3f, unless its coded that when 1 NM pops, the other side wont spawn a NM) which is par with every other area:
arra - 1f chig, 2f gear, 3f acro + end room, 4f lamia/qutrub + acro 6
SS - 1f carri/appk + QQ, 2f center + east/west, 3f flayer/oro + LAC 6
Bhaf - 1f gob + dahak, 2f occult + pld/rng/rdm/mnk, 4f gear + acro 6

in fact, based on that, I'd go out on a limb and say that once 1 rampart on 3f zhay has popped a NM, the other rampart wont. I'm pretty sure theres no doors on that floor.

Man lost twice in Zhay lol, first time tried with brd, big mistake.
2nd time brought him on pup instead, but timed out. Are there 2 NM on floor 4? I spent too much time killing stuff I don't need to kill I guess.
Got charmed and killed my pup mule.
Also one shot the rampart on floor 3 lol so got no gear NM from there.
Is it possible to spawn both E and W Gear NM?
Do you have to whack on the ramparts to make reinf pop or do they just do it.
Took like 6 reinforce for thief NM to pop too, wasted so much time.

So much stuff to clear lol, had like 5 min left so I jsut pop nq hydra and went up.
Ran to fight HQ but healer got stuck on the door so I wiped, waste of 2 runs;;

But yeah no visible armor, 1 magic till 3rd, no ranged till 5th, no run speed caues no legs, and it's pretty rough. Just gotta manage my time a bit better I guess, or maybe bring dnc instead.

BR2 again yesterday. Gear NM pop.

1F (East)
Clear

2F (NW)
Cleared middle wing + NM
2 pups on the way NW + PLD NM.

3F (East)
MGS past all the gears until big east room. Kill the 3 gears + pop rampart.
Killed rampart + 8 gears

4F (East)
Ported at 58 mins.
Killed both gears with victory smite. NM pop.

Acro NM.
NQ Cerb. Ares feet.

F5
HQ Cerb. Morrigan's pants.

Maybe you need a certain amount of gears killed. Now that I remember, on the previous run I popped the Gear NM I aggroed some gears on the way to the east room on 3F and only killed 4 after rampart pop.

Yeah it's seeming like you need to use the same kind of damage to kill both gears (Either WS or normal hits) in order to get the NM to pop. My logs arn't terribly helpful with this since I have multiple people beating on it each run so I can't tell if its a WS killing something or a normal hit right after a WS, etc. Whenever I do Bhaf again I'll try it out.

We skip 4th floor entirely. For the ramparts, I think it is tp based because you can sleep them, and they won't immediately summon on waking. We just hit them until they go below 25%, and then spam dia if needed. We used THF BLU RDM, though I'd probably switch my RDM to SCH. We got to 6th floor in 50 minutes so we had plenty of time for boss. -PDT gear is useful for him.

Has anyone ever gotten a Linen Pouch off the NQ boss on the second to last floor? I am wondering if two-linen runs are possible.

The source isn't very reliable for the moment. The poster claims he tested on BST/BLM (wat) and then when the other posters asked him wtf he was talking about, he never came back to respond, and they dismissed him as a troll.

Yeah, 7~10% is also an awfully wide range. I think it would really need to be at the 10% end to be a useful piece. And I assume he was just eyeballing it if he came up with "7~10%," in which case... just no.

He claims it's because he got back less TP from just wearing SK+1 versus just wearing Suppa, so I assume the logic would be, "It's more than Suppa, so it must be like either Koga Pants +2 or Charis Body +2!" Of course, he also claims he did it on BST/BLM, which is...well, yeah.

Ahhh, I coulda sworn I popped it before w/o killing anything on floor 3. I mean, what's the point if you don't need any unlocks.. those single gears barely drop alexandrites and I need the time to kill boss(es). I know I've been skipping floor 3 for most of my runs now.

So the remaining unsolved mysteries are-

Bhaflau:
Goblins: Usually pop, sometimes don't - ongoing theory is that it's related to kill speed of 2nd goblin? It's certainly related to killing the 2nd goblin in some regard.
Archaic Gear NM: Probably the most unreliable of all the NMs for which we don't have confirmed pop methods, ongoing theory is that it's time-related somehow, but nothing has been proposed yet that hasn't been disproven by at least one other person.
Cerberus (NQ Rampart): Seems to be related to kill-speed of the triple gears, but hasn't been confirmed yet.

Arrapago:
Khimaira (NQ Rampart): Seems to be related to kill speed on 6F, possibly just for Armored Chariot, but hasn't been confirmed yet

SSR:
Dvergr (NQ Rampart): Only running theories are that it's either related to the total number of rampart kills in the zone (15~16 or more?) or related to the time between porting to 4F and opening the door to the room where the rampart should be. I don't think either of these have been disproven.

I'm pretty sure we have 100% confirmation on pop methods for all other NMs.
