If your WHM subs RDM and can stick enfeebles, you can gravity and kite while shields are up, just FYI. Also, if you have a SCH or something with you, nukes do full damage when unresisted. I casted a bunch of thunder-based nukes last night (he was spamming the fuck out of Pyric Bulwark, literally like 4 times in a row), I was able to nuke him down from like 20% relatively easily with 4-5 nukes.
This has been the only ongoing theory that hasn't been disproven in this thread and I think it's been the consensus for a while. I have run straight to the door on every SSR run I've done and it's popped every single time. I know I said this earlier, but in case people didn't see it (and there was a confirmation from someone else, Radec maybe), if you link the ramparts in the last two rooms instead of aggroing them (easier said than done), they spawn acroliths instead of or in addition to their normal shit, giving you even better alexandrite chances (since they can each drop a cotton purse at like ~10% drop rate).
SSRII: No NQ Dvergr, took over 15 mins on 4th floor trying to pop acroliths, and failed too, coz the 2 ramps seem to be true sound and I aggro'd before they linked to the other ramp I was bringing.
Anyway, as someone said, seems like there's a time limit.
Stun works on hydra. Can stun both pyric and nerve gas. Made the fight really easy for us. (Used temporal shift).
And the reason why his heads don't disappear on DRK is you're not using a critical hit weapon skill. I use CDC and THF uses evisceration. Not that you 'need' to remove them if you're using twilight though.
I dont think stun works from a job without native dark skill, atleast not without an exceptional stun set.

Not even Bst since if you have pet haste gear(which you should since as far as I know there arent really many good options for the mini-expansion rewards outside of pet haste nowadays plus if you care enough about bst to be making salvage upgrades for it) you're going to make up for the lost haste in the head slot via porthos body.
Did another bhaf run, same results on 4fE NM. I put mnk on gear 1, thief on gear 2, have mnk WS killshot, then immediately thf killshot, and its popped. 5 times in a row for me. For what its worth, I havent seen Gear 1 ever do restoral, but I havent gotten a sufficient sample size to confirm anything.
