Is there a decently strong weaponskill I can close with on MNK to make Reverberation? If my Reverberations (or Scissions if it's weak to earth) are doing more than my Lights, then it would be a safe bet it's weak to water and Darkness would be the way to go.

Edit: I guess we could do Aeolian > Shijin, although I have no idea how well Shijin will do since I've been dropping it one merit at a time for Requiescat (currently 3/5 Shijin I think).

Actually, Shijin Spiral has Reverb property. With a nin partner.. Blade: Ku > Shijin Spiral should make Reverberation (their Grav>Fusion properties won't chain). Or open with Blade: Chi or Blade: Rin if the nin doesn't have Ku unlocked.

Edit: And for scission test, Backhand Blow > Dancing Edge (assuming nin is subbing /dnc or /thf). Edit2: Actually, Blade: Yu would also work; missed that.

The element it picks is based on the resist rate of the monster, so I'd be somewhat surprised to find that skillchain resist rates are determined by physical accuracy directly. Perhaps by weapon skill, but then we'd expect mine to be weaker again (because Dagger is B+ for DNC).

You cannot easily make Darkness on NIN+MNK. SAM+MNK would be much easier. Just have the NIN spam Blade: Yu while you kill it.

After all those days making 90 empyreans with my LS and farming Orthrus claws and the impossibility of getting a Darkness yellow proc when it is BRD or NIN makes me think all Cerberuses are either dual based (dark and fire?) or just have naturally massive dark resistance.

Has anyone had consistent success breaking heads off the HQ Hydra? I've never broken one off the HQ.

We usually break off at least one head per run, although I don't have screenshots of anything beyond that. We don't use crit WS though so other groups might have better experiences.

I know everyone's been dying to confirm +18%

Path that took me ~50s to run in Tandava Crackows (+12%) took ~47s with Skadi+1.

47/50 = 0.94

(1-0.18)/(1-0.12) ~ 0.932

So it looks like it's +18%!

Kaustra resisted on seething cerberus quite heavily, so I don't think it's weak to dark.

Not saying that it is weak to dark, as based on Orthrus's resistance I would think if anything it resists it, but my group has never had this issue. That said we always magic burst kaustra off of Full Break >> Evisceration.

Want to note that I had completely different results when it came to light skillchains on the cerberuses. Almost all of mine were doing full damage with exenterator>Shijin.

What jobs/skills? We went MNK/MNK today doing Shijin> Smite and I was still getting resisted into the ground.

Has anyone entertained the idea that Seether might take enhanced Magic Burst damage?

I decided to nuke on my mule between WSes.

Regular nukes were hitting for 800-1500 (timing during the fight didn't seem to matter).

Even near the start of the fight, Magic Bursts, however, looked like this: (with Ebullience, also Klimaform/Thunderstorm, but still - I had these two up for everything):

I always able to break NQ head with like 3k damage dealed over short amount of time, like 3-5 sec? with brd songs and buffs up

as for HQ, he seems to have higher threshold in the region of 3-5k dealt in short time. I usually breaks head when i open sekkanoki catas > catas > darkness and then move to 2nd head and try to do the same (without sekkanoki for 2nd head but with embrava and march i sometimes able to pull off a darkness)

it may also be totally random tho but i dont have problems breaking its first head. 2nd head on HQ depends on my luck on TP to get darkness off w/o sekkanoki and/or he dont use shield in between and totally screwed my TP up

Im uploading a video i just did ZR 5 mins ago, didnt chop off both tho, but you can roughly see my idea

as for NQ i always break both w/o problem with a single catas and some auto attacks between catas in the short window, but then again, i broke NQ head off before on first hit 1000 damage crit too

PS. not necessary crit hit needed as you can see from my upcoming video, also i did ZR with drg and thf before so need not be slashing too. I believe its just a mechanic of luck, or burst damage in short time. Direction you attack might affect the success rate too (my personal placebo effect)

My mule is lucky she gets any nuking gear at all!

But that was sort of my point. I'm nuking in absolute bullshit gear. Regular nukes reflect that, but MB'd nukes are ridiculous.

Can anyone confirm Genta hara-ate dropping off the east side cerberus NQ? I'm trying to test some theories, because the 2% drop rates on ffxidb are looking really suspect. That could be happening because the west path is rarely killed, and it actually can't drop on the east path. This is getting a bit too obscene for me to sound like simply RNG luck. While I'm probably just getting screwed over, it certainly makes me feel better to grasp at straws and hope that the game isn't just being a complete and utter dick to me.

I mean, they're technically both in the center.. certain piece drop rates are just abysmal. I've seen almost no Skadi Feet from Seether.

Unfortunately, I don't really have any data for you, though.

Yeah, I know it's probably unlikely, just kind of insane to have done BR enough to accumulate enough pages to finish usu set and an NQ piece without having seen a single 45 body. Especially considering that I have seen somewhere around 7 Neit coats, and that has half the drop rate as genta hara-ate.

i have made a body and got 2 more hara-ate (1 in moogle 1 on me) doing just the east route

i only did bhaf for like 2 weeks straight and never went back anymore, friend got some hara-ate too so its just bad luck on ur case i guess :X

and i dont remember more than 5 45 coat lol random shit is random
