I've managed it while 3boxing along with one other person actually playing. There was a Salvage Helper program I used to use for cells; wouldn't have managed without that. But yeah, 3 actual people should have no issue.

Wrong, aslong as you lot important cells on main DD you can just let others fall where ever and sort them out of f4 rather than waste time pass/lotting it. It is definitely possible to reach f4n in under 30mins killing f3s

If you really need cells on mage or something you can use th salvage helper program mentioned above but aslong as long as your mage has f1 cells unlocked there shouldn't be any problems

And then you port to 4f and youre missing a mp cell because everyones inventory filled up, which once again falls to overwhelming cell micromanagement.

No because you bring atleast one char with 40+ inventory spaces, shouldn't be hard to do considering 3rd char is going to be thf or brd and won't require full gear

Edit: I take Thf Whm Whatever for ZR, I have 15-20 free spaces on thf and whm and 40+ on 3rd char and I have never managed to end up short on mp/hp cells

Even my second mule doesn't have nearly 40 spaces available. Granted, your method does work. I'd just be frustrated by it.

I purposefully don't bring excessive gear for ZR for that exact reason, it makes the run far less stressful knowing I can just lot cells on main and then just keep killing while they get pushed through pool

Thf I leave any SA/TA/Evasion gear, Whm I leave any hMP or MAB gear and I'm left with a minimum of 15 spaces on both

I usually make it to floor 4 in about 23~25 mins dualboxing BLU+WHM with a THF, with frequent pauses to sort out cells for 5. Being able to AoE every room down almost instantly makes things pretty easy, so if BLU's an option for you I'd consider trying it.

Can second this. Simply round up all the mamools and one-shot them with whirl of rage or thunderstrike. Diaga them beforehand to remove the NINs' shadows. Kill south frog while healer runs to north teleport. You don't need to pass anything, as they only drop 3 of each stat cell. Can just drop the extras

It's clear that the problem is cell loting. But you can reload floor 4 as much as needed for the missing stats (although some of the stats dont drop on floor 4, I dont remember which, need to ask Uzor for his ultimate zhayolm strategy).

Can somebody give me a better explanation on how to avoid linking the single gears on SSR2 4F?

windower application SalvageHelper is your friend. Has a nifty countdown timer too so you can always know how much time is left.

go into either the west or east room of 3F (i think you meant 3f, 4f is boss floor that you just run through real quick). make sure your tank has sneak up. make sure your mage stays out of casting aggro range of the single gears when they pop (20 yalms). there is a ledge along the side of the walls that that you can run along. the column right before the rampart you will see 2 lines on the ledge, one before and one after the column. go to the line that is closest to the rampart. voke the rampart. only the rampart and the tri-gear will aggro (weather can affect things though).

also mdkuser, the only cells that don't drop in old ZR 4f is mp cell and equipment cells. Now there is an exception, the frogs do drop other cells.... but very rare, you could kill all of them and only get one cell (or worse, none) even with a thf THing them.

you can reload the floor by purposedly chosing the wrong rampart. But yeah I think it was MP. Or maybe it droped from rampart's reinforcements on 4F and 5F. The strategy we used at 75 allowed to reach 4F and still do 5FN 6F frogs, it required to get at least 3 MP cells from the first few rooms on 3FS.

yea, i triboxed (or at least i used to do old salvage before neo came out) ZR and would do imp/frog on 2f, get 3 mp cells on 3f south, port up north within 30 minutes, 4f frog north then redo all stats missing (important to kill frog first!), 5f frog north, 6f frog, boss. i would go mnk/war, thf/smn, whm/smn. you get the most alex that way because of the extra coinpurse on 4f frog north.

The original post was asking if it was possible to pop 6F frog without killing the imp, so, just as an addendum to these strategies, you will need to clear all the mamools on the 3rd floor and kill the 3rd floor frog as well. Because of this, you should never have to reload 4F unless you misslot or lose a cell. You should obviously kill the south frog, not the north one, as none of the mamools on the north path drop cells, and then port up on the north side.

    Thank you Helel!

Feel like this is a Q/A for 7 year old content sorry guys ahaha just one more thing about BR Ramparts.

A friend told me to not bother if inital spawn doesn't appear before 50% because apparantly it's extremely rare after that point, is there any truth to this or just an old salvage wives tale? I feel like I am shooting myself in the foot when I kill a rampart off I need even though it is boring as fuck.

Individual occurrence of an NM is not any rarer before or after 50%. It's just that running assumption of the way BR works, a rampart is flagged to either pop NMs (~25% of the time) or not (~75% of the time). So the longer you stay at a rampart with no NM pops, the more likely it is not flagged to pop NMs. That being said, while it is very improbable, it's theoretically possible that a rampart is flagged to pop NMs and still never pops one for its entire life.

If you're only after one specific 35, you might as well stay for the full life of the rampart(s) that drop it, since you'll still have time to finish the run and LBC. If you'd take any/all 35s, then leaving around 50% is pretty typical.

People still debate this, but I've always bought into it. When I get one NM over 50%, I tend to see 4-6 on that Rampart. So I see two cases:
    1) Ramparts are sometimes "active" which means they have a 5% chance of popping an NM every time they spawn one (5 pops average from 100-0% HP)
    2) There is actually a a% chance of popping an NM each time and ramparts are always "active", but because I kill Ramparts that fail to pop above 50% and do the extra 50% HP on Ramparts that do, I end up with a high-biased estimation of the pop rate.

I really doubt case 2, though, because I feel that the number of times I see 0 pops above 50% HP and times when I see pops above 50% HP are about equal (or I see no-pops more frequently). In order to get 0 NMs in 50 spawns half the time, you'd need a pop rate of about 1%. If you have a pop rate of ~1%, the odds of seeing 4-6 pops (which is frequently reported) would be tiny. I used italics because I haven't quantified anything, though I did go through and count the number of kills per "active" rampart I had at one point and came up with an average around 5.

    Edit: Oops, beaten by Slycer!
