Well its not like the government is going to take responsibility for the kids being mentally scarred long-term. Usually in school shooting cases the therapy, counseling, etc. is short term. Who covers the cost when the child needs further support?

I can assure you none of those kids that witnessed headshots left and right like it was nam' are going to be getting free medical care for the next 5+ years paid by the government. That is unless they're the true "middle class" and sit on food stamps/welfare/medicaid/etc. Then the kids get free rides anyways.
