There's no humor in the world anymore. Stand up comedians get slammed all the time for racially charged routines. People can't even take advantage of Gangnam Style without someone saying it's inappropriate. Can't tell jokes in the workplace because someone will bitch and suddenly sue you for harassment, even if you aren't talking to them.

Had a guy in the academy who asked one of the other guys what the "N" word meant. He was from rural Pennsylvania so he never interacted with any other culture other than quiet sleepy town white suburbia. One of the other recruits (black) overheard him ask the question, immediately flipped a shit and reported him to the drill instructor. They ended up suspending him from the academy and despite the guy he was talking to (also black) saying it was just a simple question, they fired him for racial remarks. One chick who was overtly paranoid about the whole thing blew it completely out of proportion, which in turn got her small clique to jump in the whole mess even though they were no where near the two when they were talking and it was physically impossible for them to hear it made statements that the kid was a racist and called black people all types of names.

Can't even hold simple conversations without someone jumping all over you.

"We can't go back to school," one little boy told Rosen. "Our teacher is dead."

Rosen took the four girls and two boys—students of slain teacher Victoria Soto—into his home, gave them toys and comforted them while he tried to reach their parents. He spent the days following the massacre telling his story to the swarming media that invaded the small Connecticut town in the wake of the shootings.
“I wanted to speak about the bravery of the children,” Rosen told Salon. “I guess I kind of opened myself up to this.”

You'd be surprised on what you can get (especially off the internet). Got denied in a real gun shop? Could have easily bought one online and skipped the background check, registration, etc.

Genuinely curious of where you can purchase a gun online without having showing proof of an FFL on the receiving end. Only way around that is a C&R license and I don't hear of mass shootings with muskets and guns from the 1940's.

It's one of those "loopholes" that people are bringing up in the gun legislation talks. For instance: you can legally purchase a firearm from another person in the state of Virginia without having a permit and you don't have to have the firearm registered when it transfers (either party). So purchasing outside the state, say you bought one that ships the weapon from a state with stricter laws (i.e. Connecticut), it's the buyers jurisdictional laws and firearms laws that comes in to play when the sale is made, not the seller.

It's not like this in every case and I'm sure there's some places where it doesn't work that way due to specific laws made by the state. An example again would be the District of Columbia, which specifically has it written in it's laws that you cannot purchase a gun outside of the city and bring it in to the city without registering the firearm or the transfer of sale through a licensed dealer (there's only one in D.C.). Conversely, if you tried to purchase a weapon from that same shop from outside of the District of Columbia, you have to go through D.C.'s purchase provisions and background checks before you can own that weapon. Which is why every gun that's ever recovered in a crime of violence in the District is almost (80-85% of the time) always traced to Virginia where it originated from.
