I guess its just your response to the whole thing plays into the tropes. Do you really think anyone would be ok with having guns readily accessible on school property just in case someone else with guns showed up? Also the whole additional required training thing is.completely impractical and would only further fuck the teacher job market. Also more guns are not the solutions to guns.

Or maybe the way the guy stabbed the children missed vital organs and prevented them from being killed the same as shooting someone and inflicting a non fatal wound versus a fatal one. As I said before it takes an extra step to get up close and personal by stabbing people but banning guns isn't going to stop someone who has made up their mind to kill people.

To think we can just outright ban guns of all flavors is making the same argument that our woeful war on drugs did all those billions of dollars ago.

If I walked into a classroom I could be done with 30 people after the teacher was out of the way in a matter of 2 minutes or less. You're acting like an adult can't just handle the other adult in the room and hit the jugular of the 20-30 kids in there.

How many people that have done school shootings have your kind of training though? Serious question, as it always seems like some random young adult who flips his shit, rather than some military personnel.

Who the fuck cares if no one died in China? It's still a tragedy that someone woke up and decided to stab kids on their way to school. To write it off because no one died is asinine.

I'm sure the parents of the slashed-but-alive children can see a difference.

Teachers who (can in a moment's notice) hold guns and are capable of using it will probably not sit well with a lot of parents, methinks.

I'm aware that it takes an extra step to stab someone rather than using impersonal bullets but to think that strict gun control is going to stop someone who has made up their mind on killing children is simplifying the issue.

No it wouldn't. Teachers already get trained on how to tackle + remove a weapon from a student. I'm not talking about going to a 4 year boot camp here.

also, I think THE BEST solution is gun control. But that doesn't face with reality of how hard it would be to ban guns in this country. I want it, but I doubt it would ever happen. and I don't think we should just sit on our hands and let these shootings continue just because we can't have the best solution. We need to do something in the meantime until our society is in a way that would get rid of the right to bear arms.

This doesn't change the fact yours is a terrible example. If you think it's just as easy to kill someone with a knife as a gun I got some RE games for you to play. Yes, you can kill with a knife, but look at how that turned out for the Chinese guy.

Getting rid of guns doesn't remove the problem completely, but it sure does fucking help.

They didn't indicate gender, but seeing others saying it was his mother.
