Sure why not. After all it was a revenge peace mission, so why would you need to bring guns there?

Seriously though, as long as immature angsty sociopaths in thier 20's can't get their hands on one I don' care how strict gun control is.
I think the minimum requirements to own a gun should be:
    -age 30+,
-no past problems with the law,
    -having a stable income,
    -passing a mental evaluation,
-disregarding children and disabled people everyone else in your household meets the above criteria.

Which probably means roughly a quarter of the currently allowed ones in the U.S. right now.

What about hunters? What about other items that can have lethal intent, like knives? Where is the line drawn?

Having the ability to own a gun doesn't make someone into a crazy gunman. Look deeper into the issue. Look at the root of it. Why did someone flip the shit out and murder his mother and then two dozen bystanders? Yes, some people are just born genuinely crazy, but what from their environment exacerbated the issue?

I also think if you get into an accident, get a speeding ticket, texting while driving, get a DUI, etc, you lose your license to drive a vehicle forever. Driving with a suspended license is life in jail without parole. Far too many people are far too dangerous behind the wheel.

Can't apply for a license until you're 30 as well.

If there is an answer it's not less guns, it's probably along the line of more hugs.

Been shooting since I was 8 or 9 with my dad. My school had a firing range and a shooting team as did many others in the area. Even children can be responsible with firearms if they're taught to be.

Banning is never the answer. I just look at prohibition for that.

People like you fail to understand the most basic concept of enabling. I am really tired of this really shitty logic that somehow only a person and their mental state can determine whether people will die.

I will say it again. If you wanted to kill a bunch of people quickly in a public area are you going in with a knife or gun? Which one facilitates your desire the best?

If the choice between a rampage and nothing is accessibility and ease of execution you aren't picking a knife.

The issue is that firearms remove the possibility of resistance from other people. Next time some maniac with a gun starts shooting at you run up and try to disarm him like Jason Bourne. Then watch as you get shot in the face.

Stop applying shit logic to situations like these.

Jumping in without reading 100% of this.

We all know some stricter form of Gun Control is coming. I truly don't mind if they don't allow me to carry in public anymore, but if the crazies want to kill people, they are going to get their guns regardless.

My only qualm is, if they try to ban guns from residences. I don't "want", I expect to be able to defend the home which houses my family, and everything that I own from intruders. As much as I like having my gun on my hip everywhere I go, I can deal with leaving them at home. But it's when they go to remove muh guns from the homestead is where I see problems.

I thought I was coming in here to read about the American government sanctioning violence against civilians abroad. But deep dish pizza sure does sound good.

Sigh. Every time I see an argument about "criminals won't follow gun laws" or "they'll get guns anyway" I just feel the compulsive need to point out that most of these mass-murderers got their weapons from their families. There's a VERY BIG difference between going down a dark alley and buying a gun from some suspicious individual's trunk and picking it out of your family's armory. That difference alone could've stopped a significant number of the tragedies we've had in the past 10 years.

Not to mention all these mass shootings are staged by Obama so he can ban our guns!

Yes because gun sales happen like this.

Most are done by people who have a good record and then sell them.

I know a person who took his fathers gun and sold it. Person killed someone. Legal for him to own.

First answer how would you of stopped that shooting, then if the person should of had (the owner who had it stolen) the gun.

    Then read this

    Spoiler: show
gun owner and father was a NYPD cop

People will sell guns no matter what.

I am all for stricter gun laws for people who are on meds ,felons, and all but going to far I do believe will cause more harm then good.

How does making it more difficult for a felon/psych patient to get a gun solve the problem of angsty, nihilistic 20-somethings from suburbia going on shooting rampages?

These kids don't have criminal records and the only thing the last 3 shooters could have been tagged on is their shared social awkwardness noted by peers but dismissed as simply being a loser. Shall we turn in every person who seems a bit odd for a psychiatric evaluation? You'd need families to be willing to turn in their kin when they feel something is off and we know well such situations would go over.

People don't have the need to go down dark alleys to get guns because they are already there for them. If they really wanted to shoot up a bunch of 10 year olds do you really think buying a gun from someone in a shady situation would be the factor that would make them decide not to? I mean come on man, think through it. people had to find dealers to smoke weed, just about everyone I know has smoked weed, even though buying it is usually in a shady situation. a gun yeah, I realize that'd be even more shady but still.. banning isn't the answer
