It's worth noting that they're synonymous in most contexts. Obviously you're referring to the secondary definition of nationalism, which is a superiority complex about your country. The first definition is, hilariously enough, patriotic feelings, principles, or efforts.

That'd weigh heavily on how one defines patriotism. Colloquially, patriotism is nationalism. If patriotism were to start meaning that we love the country we live in because it has policies with distinguishable advantages over other options, I'd be on board. As far as most of the world is concerned, patriotism is "I love my country because it's my country and it's better than your country because it is"

Debatable, is a Muslim child born here that only spends his life in Muslim communities and in no way integrates to or experiences any of Britain's culture really British any more than just having the title slapped on their birth cert? Same for Polish, etc. "herp derp racist" all you like, there are deeper and more intellectual implications to this that noone here seems to be able to understand. However, for the record, neither Islam or Polish are a race, so please use your brain if you're going to try and "herp racist derp" this post.
