Re: Give me tips on horror games!
I'd just marathon some horror movies. Most games ia more like the odd jump every now and then.
Way back silent hill used to scare me but now the graphics are probably too shit to be scared.

Amnesia: the dark descent
-
Annihilation Banwave
sprout sprout sprout
2031 No.1 Draft Pick
Pittsburgh Penguins
Sweaty Dick Punching Enthusiast
Penumbra
Amnesia
Clock Tower was creepy when I first played it years ago. Same with Silent Hill & Silent Hill 2.
-
Amnesia is probably the most recent horror game. Everything else is just Zombies, and there are lots of them to pick from.

Is there some limitations on platforms?
If not then Fatal Frame
-
Resident Evil remake for Gamecube, a classic.
Resident Evil 2, not so much horror but if you let yourself get lost in it the experience is quite enjoyable.
Eternal Darkness, more an example of the game just wanting to fuck with you.
Fatal Frame.
Everything else I'd recommend has pretty much been stated...
I'd even go so far as to say Doom 3, there are some pretty terrifying moments/creatures in that game.
-
Hmm..
Jurassic Park on the SNES?
Limited fucking ammo.
Raptors appearing and jumping out of no where.
First Person View of inside buildings
Weird/strange growls in empty rooms
Fucking scary that was.

You can try "The Thing" on the PC. Somewhat old (2002) but it's basically a replica of the film, a FPS with a fear and trust system amongst 3 NPCs (engineer, shooter, medic).
-
Seconding the recommendation for Fatal Frame.

Dead Space, while it gives its fair share of shocks and jumps, doesn't really leave any lasting fear or disturbed feeling, in my opinion. It's hard for a lot of games too deliver genuine fear, but some do it better than others
-
the first fear game was pretty good. always wanted to play deadspace just never got around to it.
-
I thought Deadspace was memorable not for the fear, but the entire atmosphere, progression and story. It has good gameplay, is decently scary (very scary if you're a pussy like me) and has a good story. Short of the game making you literally shit your pants, it's worth playing.

Limbo is a bit eerie since there is hardly any back story
