Help me BG, you're my only hope! - Need help with desk setup.

As the title states, I need your input on how to setup my new desk with what I have currently. My old setup I only used to use one monitor and I had a 7.1 sound system hooked up. I have now moved my computer out of the basement into the office upstairs and upgraded to two monitors. Only problem is that I do not know how I should set it up.

The picture below shows the two new monitors I got along with two old bookshelf speakers and a sub on the floor. Would it be weird to create some kind of stand so that the speakers were above the monitors and pointed somewhat downwards at me? I'd like to have my second monitor right next to my main one.

The picture below is my ideal setup of my monitors.

I'm not sure what you're implying with the link.

Do you mean for me to use that as a shelve above my monitors or as a new desk?

It's an extension for the right side of your desk to give you more space.

Hmm, not really. Immediately to the right of my tower is a window.

lay the speakers on their side and just let them go under the monitors?

Build a corner shelf for putting the speakers on, or use mounting brackets. Bonus points for dropping the wires behind the sheetrock.

I thought about that but the width of the speakers is larger than the maximum height the monitors can go.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I am a big fan of the mounting speakers to the wall. Gets them out of your way, and you can tilt them downward with most (all?) speaker mounts.
