You can get it from Amazon.com if you change your address to an American one. Bogus street address in San Francisco, California, ZIP 90210 is what I used. I cannot be assed to deal with the SE store.

Here's to hoping I can just install Amazon's copy of UCSE onto my Steam install. The product page mentions a Component Selection screen, so I should be able to just install Seekers.

clearly people are not in BG chat.

If you pre-ordered from Amazon, download the pc downloader from the "Your Games and Software Library" page. Booting this will begin the download. Afterwards, go into your Amazon folder in docs, enter the SoA file, and click on the setup.exe to begin. ROM9 & sound9 will be added to your pc.

hmm ok i got that far, both copies i ordered are listed, but the downloader isnt telling me its downloading anything.

You might want to check on the page for the expansion itself on Amazon that you actually bought it (even though your money hasn't come out yet, I know). It'll say somewhere near the top of the page "You ordered this game on March XXth, 2013".

Like 6souls said earlier, if you navigate to the directory that you downloaded the file to, you should see a sub-directory titled "FFXI_SeekersOfAdoulin_NA". Enter that, and start "FFXISETUP.exe" directly. This will bypass the error you received at the start (related to a bad command sent to your decompression software), and should install everything properly.
