I remember I used to watch "At the Movies" every week. I liked his reviews and moreover, I trusted his reviews. Sometimes I wouldn't go to see something based on what he said. I knew he had cancer and about some of his past surgeries and stuff. From all of what I have read about him he seemed like a genuinely nice person. He will be missed.

Not super close, but I remember him from holiday gatherings and other special events. All the kids loved him because he always had Life Saver fruit candy that he'd share with us. To most people he was a film critic, but to me he was the person who taught me how to shuffle around the carpet in my socks and then sneak up and shock someone.
