for driving like an asshole in a car he apparently couldn't handle? eh
I wouldnt say deserve, but he sure had it coming.
Yeah lmao that's pretty weak criteria for deserving to die lol
Do people say the same thing every time someone has a 1-car accident? It's called an accident for a reason. And how do you know he was inexperienced? No one even knows his name (note: not saying I know he was some race car driver, I don't know his name either). This shit happens all the time to regular people, I'm sure if Paul had felt uncomfortable getting in the car with him, he would have stopped it from happening.
This is what interests me the most about this situation. Who was the driver, why has his identity not been revealed and what was their relationship? Was it really some random that Paul gave a ride for charity? I personally find this hard to believe, that he would allow the guy to potentially drive 100+ MPH in his $500,000 Carrera GT, knowing that Paul is a huge enthusiast (this is an extremely rare car, by the way - only 1270 were produced worldwide - and this would probably be one of the highest profile crashes this year even if it hadn't been someone famous inside). I also heard it was the driver's car, not Paul's, but I haven't seen any verification of that either way. I feel like the media has been oddly vague about the driver and the situation around the accident. If I was at a charity event, I'd have a nice huge wide open parking lot where the guy could drive my supercar around with me shotgun at low speeds, MAYBE do a donut or two if there's an EMS or fire team on hand, something like that. No one is going to hand the keys to this car to a random person and jump out on the open road with them and allow them to drive like that. I just don't buy it.
Anyway, more to the point about Cream Soda's comment - doing donuts is hardly some scandalous or dangerous activity. No one ever dies doing donuts. Yes, blasting down a public boulevard at 100+ MPH (like I assume he was doing at the time of the accident) was dumb, but you can't seriously believe he deserved to die because he laid down some low-speed rubber a mile back or some shit.
*EDIT* Sorry for the rant, that comment just really pissed me off. Seems like an absurdly jealous thing to say. "Fuck that guy, doing donuts in his $500,000 supercar on the street, I hope he catches on fire and burns to death."
getting this worked up over a CS post is just... fucking lol, welcome to BG.
Yeah, I was on the same server as CS in FFXI years ago so I know he enjoys getting under people's skins.
Anyway, found this on a car forum I frequent:
I'm posting this with a throw away account because I don't want to profit from this tragedy, but here are some facts about the accident today that everyone needs to know:
I was at the event an hour before the crash and 3 of my close friends were first responders at the scene.
Paul was NOT driving the car, the car was being driven by Roger Rodas, his business partner at Always Evolving
They were NOT street racing - There was no other car involved
The only car involved was a Porsche Carrera GT owned by Always Evolving, which is part owned by Paul Walker
The crash happened on a quiet industrial area, directly in front of the AE shop
Paul was there to support a Christmas Toy Drive - This was NOT a racing event / underground street race / anything of the sort
Roger lost control of the car, spun, hit a pole and the car broke in half and burned
Edit: There were NO DRUGS and NO ALCOHOL involved, at all. There was zero alcohol at the event.
In Fast 7 they will have to do with PW what hey did with Brandon Lee in The Crow, cool shit
No one gives a shit about most people who die in car accidents.
Also, he didn't "die" with Walker, he killed him.
I really only used the meme to prove that it is somewhat well known who he was with and that I didn't have to search his name extensively to find his picture.
RIP Roger Rodas we hardly knew ye
... accidents aren't fucking acts of god
You're talking to someone who'd rather have a Pinarello Dogma than that car, lolSeems like an absurdly jealous thing to say. "Fuck that guy, doing donuts in his $500,000 supercar on the street, I hope he catches on fire and burns to death."
