No violence but does this qualify for this thread?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

This is the latest pet introduced by them, it seems they are really hellbent on training our robot overlords to internalize the abuse dealt by their owners...just like real dogs.

Rumor has it that BigDog is now able to tackle enemies and lick them until they lose consciousness.

That is oddly unsettling to watch. I feel like at some point their logic is going to become so sophisticated that they'll end up determining that they can maintain optimal stability by just neutralizing anyone before they have a chance to kick them.

People need to start recognizing that their "hobby" should not be protected by the constitution. They also need to start recognizing that, yes, losing a hobby sucks balls, but it's worth every penny if a significant amount of lives are being saved.

From what I understand it's meant to be a load carrier for terrain that vehicles can't handle. Until it can reliably perform (there's probably still work to be done on that front) AND carry a weight that significantly outstrips the "just have more humans carry stuff" value, there isn't strictly a need for it yet.
It's basically a mule, but without the fear/temperament issues animals have, but I doubt the modern military is all "oh man, it would be so great if we could use mules, it's just that one thing that's stopping us". Because if you use a person instead, hey, you got a person, who can do way more interesting things than a mule.

The other thing would be to serve as a platform for a non man-portable/vehicle weapon to get into locations that a vehicle couldn't
    like this thing
    Spoiler: show

Someone else is gonna have to say if there's a piece of hardware that justifies going to the trouble though. In the age of air drones that can send a missile anyplace a BigDog could get to, seems a bit pointless, ya'know?

Only way to make a significant reduction in gun crime is banning pistols. Which then steps on self-defense. And then there's confiscation of 100,000,000 firearms. This can of worms in generations in the making and minimum of generations to change and it isn't simply gun culture that needs to change.

Brute force solution? Heavy censorship of gun violence in media and 25 year mandatory minimum felony for anything short of justifiable self-defense. Make it a thoughtcrime and prosecute it.

It's hard to take anyone who could look at that data and claim that we are still making significant progress seriously.

The rate of change that mattered stopped by the early 2000s and became effectively constant for all categories measured. Which is even more obvious if you look at data extending closer to present.

    Did somebody say Michele Fiore?

    - Medical guru:
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...n-cure-cancer/

Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore said recently that she will propose a "Right to Try" bill in her state. But it's not the bill itself that gained national attention. Instead, it was Fiore's statement that she believes cancer is "a fungus" that can be cured by "flushing, let’s say, saltwater, sodium carbonate" through the body.
    http://lasvegassun.com/news/2015/nov...s-health-care/

Nevada officials are voiding Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore's license to operate a home health care business after state inspectors say they were unable to contact her, although Fiore says her decision to close the business came before the state's cancellation move.
    - Cliven Bundy supporter:
    http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/bu...rsary-barbecue

Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, a Republican representing Nevada’s 4th District, spoke earlier in the day about her recently amended bill that would challenge federal control of public lands in Nevada, Assembly Bill 408.

“When you think about the Bundy Ranch a year ago with the people of Nevada and the people all across the nation came to say, ‘Federal government we’ve had enough,’ so they’ve taken that battle all the way to Carson City, fighting to enact laws to protect them against their own federal government,” she said.

“If we had more families like the Bundys fighting for their rights, we would not have this federal overreach,” Fiore said.

I mean, she's a blonde with big tits doing what every feminist has told her she could, even if she'd probably never give them credit.

Edit: The acting in that video isn't the worst, there's far worse on TV actually

    Two comments to make:

    1. I am always stubbing the same damn toe and tell my husband I want it chopped of because I don't need it. This proves it.

    2. Imaging being the car driving by with that huge one coming up the hill. LOL

Who cares if the rate of change stopped? As long as it's still going down and it is then good. Should also be noted that the cdc numbers that pew article uses are significantly different from FBI numbers. Like 32% higher

It's (gun deaths) not still going down though, that's the point. It's basically level over the past 13 years or so.
