I think tasers are a great alternative to handguns and they shouldn't be called non-lethal but less-than-lethal (which I think they do mostly already) and they need to be controlled and trained for the use of them to make sure they are used appropriately. For example repeatedly tasering a handcuffed or detained person is not appropriate.

TN State Rep Tim Holt is raffling off AR-15s at his fundraising event.

"Holt blamed the media for the repeated use of the AR-15 in mass shootings.

"Why do we see the repeated use of the AR-15? Well because it's interviews like this," Holt told Channel 4. "It's because of the media's absolute infatuation with the AR-15."

Channel 4 initially asked Holt if he planned to still give away the AR-15 in light of the Orlando massacre. The lawmaker said yes, then added he wanted to give away a second AR-15, as well.

If he's terrified of that, he would keel over dead if he fired a Smith and Wesson M&P 15T. I've fired that, a civilian legal AR-15, and a Military AR-15, and the Smith & Wesson by far was louder, had the most kick, and heavier than the AR-15. Damn thing felt like a hand cannon when I shot it. It may also be that I was more experienced in shooting when I shot the M&P 15, but I found it more accurate than the AR-15 as well.

Well I got maybe 5 months to try it. California is potentially modifying its assault weapon bill. Currently they get around it by requiring a tool to remove the ammo clip. If this new bill passes and signed an assault rifle will be any rifle with a pistol grip and removable ammo clip.

500 Magnum is a revolver. I was just mentioning it in reference to your comment about the kick. First time I fired it nearly hit myself in the head with the barrel from how extreme the recoil was.
