It was reported to be a 10/22 which is chambered in .22 LR. It's greatly over exaggerated as a hunting weapon for anything larger than vermin mainly because inherent design limitations as a rimfire cartridge. Not sure how it being able to accept a 25-round magazine makes it able to shoot more rapid, repeat firing compared to the 10 round rotary magazine.

Basically this guy used a rifle used for shooting cans, squirrels, and raccoons to kill people. They likely died a slow painful death.

Vast majority of game it's not only illegal for hunting it's unethical as hell. No way a rimfire is going to consistently get quick lethal shots at distances beyond 20 yards. For every spine or single lung shot there would be dozens of less-lethal wounding shots or worse gutshot wounds that kill over the course of days.

Just taking a guess here but I think they mean the 25 round magazine means less downtime reloading not necessarily more shots per second. But who knows people say weird stuff without thinking about it.

He was driving a Porsche and in the car was a Thompson submachine gun, a semi-automatic rifle, a knife, & 2600 rounds of ammo. A notebook with a Nazi symbol and 75 shell casings were also recovered at the scene. All weapons were purchased legally and he had a conceal & carry permit.

ATF Form 4 is very similar to the process for obtain a CC permit with only a few more hoops like the $200 stamp fee, 6+ month wait time, and permission from city/county leo chief. The fact he was already a CC holder (and a lawyer) meant that filling out and passing ATF Form 4 was not a big deal. This is assuming he had an actual registered Thompson and not the much more common semi-automatic knockoff version that Auto-Ordnance manufactures.

The incident occurred this morning at approximately 10:00 AM when a large group of 42-looters attempted to forcefully steal from businesses at the Willow Brook shopping center located just outside of Daytona Beach, Florida.

According to police reports, the shootout lasted approximately 4-minutes and resulted in the deaths of 31-individuals; 12 store owners and or store employees and 19 would be looters.
