Personally I'm still going to CCW wherever it's legal to do so and if a business or property wishes me to leave because they see me printing or otherwise exposing my sidearm I have no problems complying and not getting salty about it. Maybe your idea of what being a responsible gunowner actually entails isn't the reality?

They wish you to not go at all. Why wait till you get caught to leave? If you don't like the rules somewhere, don't go there lol.

I can respect places like Disney World for not wanting guns on their premises. Mostly to avoid any kind of PR nightmare from even the slightest negligent action. The Soccer Mom trope is real and DW is like one giant concentrated blob of them and it only takes one rabid shrieking woman clutching her pearls from seeing a gun bulge to cause media fever and ruin attendance and their family-friendly image.

Hell, I respect them so much that I've never been to any amusement parks in 20 years and have zero interest in visiting because I would be breaking their rules. My only violation is places like my local mall and theatres because of the chucklefucks thinking it's cool to commit violent acts specifically in gun-free zones. I consider myself responsible for me and my loved one's immediate safety and prefer not relying on law enforcement showing up too late to save me. And before you ask the whole "Sheepdog" mentality is a crock of shit and I don't drink that koolaid. Having a savior complex is a fast way to a body bag along with the rest of the victims.

Exactly? Disney is not at fault, though I am glad they made the signs bigger.

But what you just described is being a responsible gun owner... People insisting on bringing a gun into private property against the owner's rules are not being responsible gun owners. And whining about not being able to go on Dumbo without your gun is ridiculous. Which are the people I'm complaining about.

This is literally what he said he would be (and is currently?) doing. He's just saying he'll walk out without throwing a tantrum when/if he gets caught.

Yeah not obeying all rules of everyone isn't really about being responsible or not. I'd go more with Ghost's line of it's more about respect than responsibility and to an extent the level of danger perceived due to the gun free-ness.

Yes and? He is telling me to calm my tits because I agree with him. You explain that.

Edit: to clarify, I never said ghost was an irresponsible gun owner, I said those that sneak guns into Disney are.

Right. It's just, if I'm understanding him correctly, he's saying he does sneak his gun into private businesses that ban them.

I disagree with the word "responsible" there.

It's not being respectful, not really irresponsible.

That's precisely what he said but that he doesn't do so at Disney specifically (and sounds like most places really but not all) out of respect for them and their rules

I thought that was sarcasm. As in, because he doesn't want to deal with their bullshit rules and potentially get kicked out of the park, he just doesn't go to Disney period. He does bring his gun everywhere without regard to whether it's allowed or not, and if businesses have a problem with that they can catch him and ask him to leave.

Though, really, who would do that? How many random retail workers are willing to confront armed customers?

That's what cops are for. The point of a gun free zone is that you should be able to safely assume anyone with a gun is up to no good.

Ha could be. Always hard to be sure could be either way but yeah now looking at it again could be more sarcasm.

You'd be surprised. Some people seem more afraid of the idea of guns than an actual person with one and can act quite brave in the face of someone they are pretty sure isn't going to do anything if they hadn't already. Also the store might have someone to handle troublesome people in the store who might be fine with it. A guy in my ls used to work at I think Best Buy where his entire job was to basically stand near the entrance and look intimidating/question suspicious customers. Effectively security/bouncer except wasn't allowed to actually touch people but still managed to stop a few people from stealing stuff

The irresponsibility to me is that you are creating a risk by disobeying the rules. As you stated , a person with a gun in a gun free zone is automatically going to be considered dangerous. I don't see that as being responsible at all, because you are creating a bad situation out of pure narcissism.

With that said I also completely agree it is extremely disrespectful, and don't think it's worth splitting hairs over.

I did not read his post as sarcasm at all. If it is, then yes, fuck his attitude that he is more important than the thousands at the park.

Not being sarcastic. Disrespectful? Yes. Legal? Yes. I'm fine being the polite asshole carrying a concealed gun that you will never see because I value my security and well-being. Perhaps you're confusing me with the tryhard attention whores that open-carry?

There aren't many places of business in Oregon that don't allow firearms and aside from the mall that states itself as a gun free zone I don't enter them or give them my business. The only reason I would use the mall is for the small cluster of shops I use for gift shopping and the food court for that sweet sweet Mongolian Grill gains are the only viable option for literally hundreds of miles around. If I could shop at a BB&B outside of the mall I would do so gladly.

What are you even talking about, dude? I have always been specifically talking about those that carry into Disney. You don't carry into Disney? Then I haven't been talking about you. Attention whore is now suspect, yes.

I would carry into Disney World as it is not illegal to do so. If asked to leave I would comply because they have the legal right to do so and failure to comply would end up as Armed Trespassing (which is a felony in FL like many other states). I'm selfish like that.

If I was an attention whore I'd be blasting selfies showing off my 10 o'clock bulge in front of the castle all over your twittergrams. Because winky face.
