Police have responded to a shooting inside Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport Friday afternoon.

NBC News one person was killed and as many as nine total people were shot between Terminal 2 and 3.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, who was traveling from the airport, tweeted out following the incident:

I'm at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Shots have been fired. Everyone is running.

The shooter has reportedly been detained.

Reddit says so far 9 shot, 5 dead, 3 critical, 1 stable, many more walking wounded. Shooter is in custody, so I'm gonna guess it's a white dude.

Latest information I have:
Update: The shooter was a passenger on a Canadian flight with a checked gun. He claimed his bag and took the gun from baggage and went into the bathroom to load it. Came out shooting people in baggage claim. There were 13 total shot, 5 dead, 8 transported to hospital.

Second shooting apparantly didn't happen, according to the local Sheriff. Some attributing it to car back-fire and everyone responding as if gunfire.

Just posting an update that now disneyland requires everyone to go through metal detectors instead of pulling random people. They have also moved the stations so now you go through them before getting on the tram (and I assume buses), and before entering downtown Disney. I'm so glad.

I actually don't think he was Canadian though, I keep seeing news reports saying he was born in New Jersey. There's also a name floating around but I don't know if its him, but the pic comparison from facebook looks like it.

Take them with a grain of salt, just relaying what gets posted on /pol/, they're usually pretty quick about finding these things. It would explain "I'm not Jewish" though, I suppose.
