Or not? Real guns loaded with blanks, or airsoft guns are used in movies all the time.

The point is this (and I'm pretty sure you know this; I don't know why you're arguing):

Relaxing one's discipline because one is "certain" that it is unloaded/a prop/filled with blanks is how people get shot. Having a weapon as significant and potentially deadly as a gun is an incredible responsibility, and the constant vigilance required is commensurate with the responsibility. If you are unwilling to exercise that vigilance, you have no business holding the weapon.

Pretending like it's no big deal because of [insert excuse here] is the problem.

They're kids, and probably have never held a gun before then. How much discipline do you really think they have? This is no different than the case of shooting a movie, anyway. Their fingers are on the trigger for a reason.

Children have the ability to exercise discipline if informed of the need of it.

That's something that should be addressed by either the staff or the parents of the child. Preferably the latter, because I don't expect much from the people who made such imbecilic ads.

If anything, i'm surprised the third kid didn't have his finger on the trigger.
I actually think it was pro gun propaganda. Dodgeball, Little Red Riding Hood, and chocolate eggs being banned are completely ridiculous as they are perfectly safe - I'm assuming the author of the photos wanted us to rethink our pussy growth.

I was essentially about to say the same thing. You can take these photos either way.

I also want some fucking Kinderueberraschung eggs in this country. What kid wouldn't love that shit? We had fucking Cracker Jacks, although those suck now, too.

I remember being around 11 or 12 fiddledicking around with a buddy and his dad's .22 revolver. After much Cowboys and Indians the hammer ended up getting pulled back and him shooting me in the left thigh. Best part was my dad finding out and proceeding to have my ass highfive his belt right after I got home from the hospital. But then later he taught me gun safety, let me fingerfuck his collection, got 10/22 for a birthday, yadda yadda yadda, gun enthusiast.

But yeah, that's why I get often get called a safety nazi until they get shown my scar. Totally preventable event if my friend and I had been taught those simple four rules at a young age.

I got hit in the head with the butt of a .22 at scout camp, only had finger on the trigger, weapon was pointed downrange and there were no people present.

Returned the favor to a private while working as a safety at the range.

Pretty much all four of the rules of gun safety are reasons to be kicked out of Ranger school or from Regiment, never to return. There's also a 5th rule for negligent discharge but yeah.

One of my favorite moments was destroying a private on a range in Benning for more or less pointing his rifle at me while I was clearing them as they were coming off the range. Fucking idiots.

“I have something I want to say to the victims of Newtown, or any other shooting,” Davis said. “I don’t care if it’s here in Minneapolis or anyplace else. Just because a bad thing happened to you doesn’t mean that you get to put a king in charge of my life. I’m sorry that you suffered a tragedy, but you know what? Deal with it, and don’t force me to lose my liberty, which is a greater tragedy than your loss. I’m sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out, given rides on Air Force One, hauled into the Senate well, and everyone is just afraid — they’re terrified of these victims.”
“I would stand in front of them and tell them, ‘go to hell,’” he added.

when you've been collecting for ~25 years, losing a couple bushings isn't that terrible. Even the rarer parts that are only made in a few sets aren't that bad, because my buying technique has evolved. I can buy individual parts directly! From a wide variety of sources. But yeah, legos are hella expensive these days. kits that would have been ~20 bucks 10 years ago are now ~40, or ~50 if you happen to be standing in a Toys R Us.

But you can disassemble them and use their parts for whatever you want, and unless something unusual happens to them (Dogs, Time Lords, fat people's feet, excessive gravity, etc), they'll last forever. Alas, bullets don't. There's also the whole "I already look somewhat creepy to strangers and don't really need to add gun-nut to the things that could potentially drive people away" factor.

Being an adult lego fanatic doesn't potentially drive people away?

If the explosive diarrhea didn't, I don't think the Legos will.

No? That's actually a pretty good setup, I made it myself lol.

Most people use it to make the quad M4 rocket launcher come at me call of duty version though. Saw some pretty funny ones.
