anytime cops fire a shot in NYC there are bystanders shot.
anytime cops fire a shot in NYC there are bystanders shot.
It's like the shooting at the Empire State Building where that office jockey shot and killed his boss and pulled out on the cops. Bunch of people got hit in the process of them eliminating the guy. There were hundreds of innocents around but they still had to shoot the guy. It's hard, sad reality but there's going to be casualties. People are going to get hurt or killed who have nothing to do with the incident but it still had to be done.
With that being said, I'm not sure why they shot the disturbed guy. It's one thing when you try to confront someone and they draw out and fire on you. But that? Jesus...
its in the headline. "NYPD shoot at unarmed man, hit bystanders"
Guess there was another shooting inside a Colorado high school?
*edit*

I guess it's good that at least no one but the shooter died.
I wish the gov't would discuss funding schools for gates separate from their budgets (and then require it by law), as it seems like too many aren't getting prepared enough.

s long as there are police officers like corporal Christopher Carter of the University of the Incarnate Word campus police, there will be cause for alarm that freedom and justice in the United States have seriously eroded.
The San Antonio campus cop was placed on paid administrative leave following the shooting of a clearly unarmed and non-combative student. What was the 23-year-old student’s crime? Robert Cameron Redus was shot dead by officer Carter at 2 a.m. for nothing more than making a sarcastic remark toward the officer who pulled him over for speeding..
According to the police report, local KSAT News explains that witnesses affirmed that the cop literally “emptied his gun” into the student without warning.
“I didn’t hear him say anything like, ‘Get down on your hands and knees,’ you know?” one witness explained, “I didn’t hear him say anything. He just started shooting. He emptied the gun on him… Boom, boom, boom.Six shots — five or six.”

Spoiler: show
2 completely different stories, one not even close to the other. (Of course)
Sucks there is no video footage to see what actually happened.
The dash cam fell off the night before... Are you fucking kidding me... This has cover-up written on it in big bold fucking letters.
The biggest thing I'd like to know right now is why a store sold a shotgun to an under aged kid?
Oh Boy here we go again. Someone didn't study for their final today.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Harvard University says four buildings on its campus outside Boston are being evacuated due to unconfirmed reports of explosives. The school tweeted that there have been no reports of any explosions.
Three of the buildings being evacuated in Cambridge border Harvard Yard.
The school posted alerts on its emergency page and its Twitter account. They say that both school and town police are investigating and the university will provide more information soon.
Final exams have begun at the Ivy League school.
Umass boston had a evacuation around the same time today for reports of a person with a gun.
Been a busy few weeks. First GWU had a gunman call (nothing in the media about it), then American University had a lockdown for a call for a man with a gun. Got to suit up twice this month!

(CNN) -- Call it knee-jerk panic or an abundance of caution.
After an eyewitness reported a man with a gun on campus at American University, authorities put the Washington college on lockdown as officers swarmed out to look for him.
In the end, no shots were fired, no crime committed. No one was hurt.
The man turned out to be an off-duty officer from the Metropolitan Police Department.
He was sitting on the bus with a woman he knew -- a student at the university.
Two tense hours
But until that revelation, students already stressed over finals spent two tense hours "sheltered in place" -- as the school asked them to do.
Warnings went out via campus e-mail within seconds of the eyewitness report:
"AU Alert: man with gun seen on campus. Campus is in lockdown. Shelter in place. More info to follow."
The university also sent out the warning via Twitter, and shortly thereafter, photos appeared online on the social networking service showing hundreds of students herded into safe rooms.
Victoria Bera was taking a final when she saw the alert, she told the student newspaper, The Eagle.
"We were really stressed out because we weren't getting the alerts at the same time as other students," Bera said. "We were able to hear the helicopters outside."
Suspicious object
The eyewitness saw a man wearing something suspicious and called authorities. They were both riding a campus bus at the time.
"Someone saw a holster, what they believe was a holster, somebody had on them," Lt. Jesse Porter said. But it was enough to put the police on full steam.
"Given the culture we are in now" police thought it was better to start with a massive response and scale back if needed, he said.
"In this time and age, people get concerned."
Terrorists win.
Yep.

Fucking dumbass.BOSTON — A Harvard University student who was allegedly trying to get out of a final exam has been charged with making bomb threats that led to the evacuation of four campus buildings and the cancellation of some final exams Monday.
Eldo Kim, 20, of Cambridge, allegedly “emailed several bomb threats to offices associated with Harvard University, including the Harvard University Police Department and the Harvard Crimson,” the U.S. attorney’s office said in a statement announcing the charges.
The criminal complaint (PDF), authored by Boston FBI Special Agent Thomas Dalton, quotes the emails, which were received by several Harvard email accounts at 8:30 a.m. Monday:
shrapnel bombs placed in:
science center
sever hall
emerson hall
thayer hall
2/4. guess correctly.
be quick for they will go off soon
The four buildings were then evacuated. No explosive devices were found.
While being questioned by authorities later, in his dorm, Kim allegedly admitted to sending the emails and said he acted alone, according to the complaint.
Kim told investigators he “was motivated by a desire to avoid a final exam,” according to the complaint. He was scheduled to take a final exam at 9 a.m. Monday in Emerson Hall. He was in the building when the fire alarm sounded for an evacuation, the complaint says.
Kim allegedly used the word “shrapnel” in his emails because he said he thought it sounded more dangerous.
Kim sent the emails using Guerrilla Mail, an “application that creates temporary and anonymous e-mail addresses available free of charge,” according to the complaint. He also allegedly used TOR, a service that assigns temporary and anonymous Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
Kim will make an initial court appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court.
According to the U.S. attorney’s office’s statement:
The maximum penalties under the bomb hoax statute are five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
I've been threatened with a Brandishing charge for accidental printing/holster view in Oregon. I can only imagine the wrist slapping that that off-duty is going to get for showing cleavage.
Edit: Referring to American University lockdown.
He's referring to someone seeing his concealed rig and getting stopped for it by the police (hence, brandishing of a firearm). Similar to what just happened at American University, someone saw a guy concealing a gun and they called the cops.
