NEW YORK - Two police officers have been shot in the Bronx, the NYPD confirmed late Thursday night, but the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

One officer was shot in the arm and another in the leg, WCBS TV reported.

Police did not have details on the circumstances of the shooting and said a suspect was not in custody.

The officers have been taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, according to the NYPD

The incident comes just a little more than two weeks after two NYPD officers were fatally shot in Brooklyn on Dec. 20th by a man who also fatally shot himself and who family members said suffered from mental disturbances.

Unconfirmed right now but there's 10 RMP's at Columbia General ER. Apparently, a suspect matching the description of the perp walked in with gunshot wounds.

Premise was a traffic stop and the suspect fled after a call for a robbery. Suspect crashed the vehicle and was able to get out the vehicle and open fire on the officers.

Sadly this is true. I'm really shook up over it since I worked and lived close by for about 2 years. I found out about it from a FB friend who lives there still. It's the epitome of small town culture where no one locks their doors or cars on a regular basis. I know it happens everywhere but still fucking scary.
