I really wish you guys wouldn't glorify this dude by sharing videos and crap about him. I think it's completely appropriate to mourn the victims, acknowledge that he was a sick man, and go from there. It makes me sick every time these things happen and the media dives into a biography of the shooter as if that weren't exactly what he wanted. Dude even has some manifesto apparently. Ugh.

What angers me more is that there's a very high chance this will do absolutely nothing to change gun laws. I mean how many more killings are fucking needed?

It's not going to change anything. Even if they did somehow change something, everyone who legally owned would be grandfathered in or whatever. There would be madness in the streets if they tried to disarm citizens.

Also, being that there are so many illegally owned/unregistered firearms in the hands of criminals, it will do little to nothing anyway. You want to commit the crime, you will find a way to do it. Don't need to legally own it to do the damage.

Basically hearing that he was the target of racism at a previous news station where he was repeatedly called a monkey and some higher ups constantly made fun of a black suspects. He tried to bring this to management on several occasions when they ultimately fired him. The news station in VA let him go because he was allegedly hard to work with and would try to get people to say things that he could take offense to.
