katlan/eanae have done this for a lot of the side mmos we try to get bg to play with. If she's been causing issues and no one is catching them, report the posts. If you can't handle that, and would rather bitch at the team when someone finally brings our attention to what's been going on, don't cry a river over getting swept with it.

this is my question, but again this all happened when we were ramping for the donation drive, and now it's live. That and the rift/aion subforums are going to be looked into after the drive is over.


I, too, would not mind a sports forum, but sports threads are really healthy for GD so probably will never happen. as I said in my last posts, we make minimods for those running guilds, so that's a driving force to make subforums for those.

I don't remember this. But yes, it will for sure be taken into account for future games.

I don't think anyone has had issues with eanae (though even he was fed up with this fucking circle-jerk), so it'll probably just be him from now on.

I have no beef with Eanae. But according to the standards you laid out, Eanae shouldn't have minimod anyways. He stopped playing GW2, unless he's going to start back up now that shit's on notice. Leader has been firmly in Kiarax's hands. Even then, the guild has been a ghost town. One of the reasons I suggested maybe doing away with the subforum and rolling back the posts into MMO General.

NSFW was created because people were hotlinking their porn. This ended up costing BG ad revenue after we were blacklisted due to spyware from some of these sites. The forum is not accessible to public and cannot be indexed by search engines (as long as they're following proper protocol)

Politics was created because of how ugly that shit can get. I mean, look at Mazmaz.

These were offshoot because of extenuating circumstances, not because they warranted the traffic. Sports would easily get its own subforum based on traffic alone. But then that sort of knocks GD aside.

I don't know much about the modding of katlan/eanae (wasn't admin at the time). I'd imagine those two were going to run the GW guild (or took it over at some point), as that is usually how minimods of games are made. The handling of the situation is bad timing as we are working on shit in regards to the donation drive, which is way more important than kiarax's whiteknighting over a tiny section.

again, as I said, I don't know the whole of that, just assuming why they were made that way in the first place. and yes, if kirax/shiyo are in charge of the guild that does prove that it shouldn't necessarily be the standard, as they have behaved worse imo.

idk, I've actually approached them about it several times, but the answer is always a no.

Ragns is the only one that has access to the forum traffic breakdowns, so he's the ultimate decider on what gets made into subforums/which ones get cut.

It is also not just a click of a button to remove a forum either. Gotta move all the posts and tag them n' stuff. Which is why decisions to do so take awhile.
