Worst FF Main Character ever

Reading that link about FF8's story makes me remember how much I absolutely hate everything about FF8 lol. But I don't need to go into more detail about why 8 sucks, just need to say how sad this topic makes me when reading about FF12. Most of you sicken me.

You weren't required to use any specific character except at certain times... I always though of Terra as the main character of WoB, and Celes as the main character of WoR, but after looking at it a bit more, Locke seems more central (screen-time wise) than Terra during the WoB.

Locke, Celes and Terra were the most frequently forced characters...

Locke, Edgar and Terra were forced from the beginning of the game (or close too it), until the first Ultros battle - when the party splits.

Locke's then forced during his own scenario, and again during the whole Zozo/Opera/MagitekFactory adventure.

Once you get Terra back, I don't think you need to use Locke for a while.

I think the Sealed Cave is next, I can't remember - but I don't think Locke is required there... Kefka shows up and Espers attack Vector. I feel like I'm forgetting something before this part though.

The Emperor sends you on a quest, and Locke's forced again up until General Leo dies, then he's never forced again for the rest of the game - unless he's forced on the Floating Continent, but I don't think he is... I think Celes is forced on your party at this point, as is Shadow.

Once the WoR starts, Locke is probably the hardest character to get back (the dungeon he's in sucks, and requires multiple parties)... so you're not likely to get him back until the end of the game... He's not required though - and I believe you can technically beat the game with three characters ... Celes, Edgar and Setzer... although this would be very difficult. It's probably a nightmare to duo those horrible tentacle bosses with Celes and Edgar.

What I'm trying to figure out is why anyone thinks Cloud is the main character. Barret is the leader of Avalanche ffs. He's the one fighting to save the world while Cloud is just along for the ride. Cloud isn't even playable for a huge portion of the 2nd disc! Barret has to go kick ass without him while Tifa has to remind Cloud that he isn't actually Zack.

Watching that XII voice comparisons video, it made me giggle that Fran's Japanese VA is the one who did Sailor Venus in Sailor Moon.

I will never understand people who hate XII. There is just so much good about it. I really hope SE decides to release a HD version of it sometime in the future.

Makes you wonder what's keeping them from throwing a couple people at porting IZJS to PSN and making a quick, easy buck. Throw a few artists in there for retexturing/remodeling and bam, HD!

I don't see the issue with that quote. It makes perfect sense. I am cynical by nature, but I always strive to be realistic about things. Don't get your hopes up and you'll never be let down but you'll often be pleasantly surprised.
