Worst FF Main Character ever

I know opinions are opinions and shit, but how the fuck could anyone vote for Terra? Chick was raised in God knows what kind of conditions under the empire for most of her life, was brainwashed for who knows how long, and essentially feared being used for a puppet for the entirety of the first half of the game. Second half consists of her wrangling with human emotions she's unfamiliar with, and finally culminates with her embracing her humanity and accepting herself.

Its still a cliche SE moment, but Christ, she's a walking badass. Nobody else on this goddamn list can cast fucking Meltdown. Terra is a boss.

Squall can cast Meltdown(provided he draws it first XD).

Personally, I'd have to go with Firion, he was fleshed out the least of all the characters. Even if the characters do have annoying tendencies, they at least had some justification for it. Firion was just kind of there. (Of course, I ignore the Dissidia games where Firion became decently likable.)

Good to see that some people realized that Ashe, not Vaan was the main character of FFXII. SE can say what they want.

What we got with Vaan was a Luke Skywalker without a compelling story arc which was due to half the XII cast not getting enough narrative time leading to a severe sense of the character being tacked on. Penelo, Vaan and Fran were along for the ride on what ultimately was a story about Ashe getting her kingdom back, Basch settling the score with his bro and Balthier attempting to stop the best damn voice actor in the game from unleashing nuclear weapons on Ivalice.

As much as Tidus was pretty lame, Bartz was pretty terrible as a lead character.

Fighter invented sword chucks, therefore he's the main character and da best.
ADHD'd on 2/3/4/5/6
Cloud was okay.
Squall was pretty realistic and cool.
Zidane was okay, and a monkey.
Tidus was a blitzball badass and other stuff.
Prishe is awesome. Aphmau and Lilsette gave us great porn, as did Prishe.
Vaan was boring, not as big a fag as Hope is though.
Lightning was alright.

I voted for Vaan, I liked pretty much everyone else.

Cloud because Zack was a boss and should've lived. Fuck handing his sword off to Cloud.

Vaan because he wasn't the main character being played like a main character. Worst main character because he wasn't a main character.

Meh, only case to be made for her is she's the first WoR character. People gravitate to her and Locke (myself included) but Terra is pretty clearly the main character.

It's not uncommon to forget things about when you were that young. That, and the fact they repeatedly tell you GF's cause memory loss.
I don't know about you but by the time I was in high school I couldn't remember anyone from the kindergarten I went to, so that scene didn't strike me as weird.

Am I the only one who didn't have a problem with that scene? Compared to the bullshit that was shoved down our throats in the previous FFs such as the fake deaths crap in FFIV and "lolol I read books for a week and I become an omicidal maniac" in FFVII, that plot twist was pretty tame.

People are too used to characters in RPGs having perfect memory since being 1 year old

Except being young isn't the reason they forgot. It was the GFs. Being young and having a fallible memory is realistic, but not exactly fun to watch. Imagine if just forgetting was it? You would've had a game where these kids come together for the first time in so many years and they slowly realise that they actually know each other as they save the world from time distorting space witches.

Instead, we got 6 seemingly random guys saving the world together and OH WAIT THEY WERE FRIENDS AS KIDS BUT FORGOTLOLOL. There's no leading up to it, no warning, just crap.

Related. For those of you who hate or love Squall/FF8, this is the funniest thing you will ever read about FFVIII.

The guy that wrote this took it down a while ago (and then a shittier version was put up that was basically plagiarized from the superior version) and I haven't been able to find it until now. Nothing ever disappears on the internet.

True, true. Wasn't really trying to defend this whole scenario, as the whole revelation is indeed sudden. Just this one thing that I think is a little too far-fetched sometimes: characters often having perfect memory and remembering everything from periods that are a little unrealistic D;

More or less why I voted for him. To be fair though, it was their first go at having a cohesive storyline where the heroes weren't just "there".
