Worst FF Main Character ever

I'm aware some older characters got imported and "upgraded" to Dissidia but ... I've not played either game, so I dunno how they're represented there.

Dissidia's worth playing if only to see the absolutely manliness of Jecht, and Sephiroth's top-tier trolling.

The saddest part of Dissidia was that the villains didn't get their story mode.

Hell, I liked them better than most of the heroes.

Not gonna' lie, hearing her voice in X-2 got me psyched and made me just wish the cast was her and Fang instead of Serah and Noel.

Did Zidane have any character development at all? I honestly can't remember the story from my playthrough of ff9 that well.

He didn't really need it because he was such a likeable char to be honest. We don't learn much about him til later but you have no doubt in your mind of what he stands for at all throughout the game which I think was a breath of fresh air from the typical tragic main character angle. Even Kuya fits his role perfectly. I don't think it's coincedental that one of the first scenes of the game has to do with a play because almost the whole game can be likened to a well-written play. Cept for the out of fucking nowhere last boss.

Say what you want about Squall... for me, this part keeps him from ever making a list of worst leads.

Irvine fucked up the assassination, most FF characters would have been like "lets fall back and form a new plan" or some BS. What does Squall do?

Fuck the haters, FF8 has one of my favorite rpg battle systems. The only thing I don't like about it is actually drawing the magic, but that shit can be grinded out easily, followed by the fun of junctioning magic. And Triple Triad? Fuck. Yes.

In contrast, I consider the magic-drawing/junctioning and scaling-mob-level systems some of the worst in any RPG that I've played.

However, this is about the main characters.

Tidus, Vaan, and Squall were the worst "main characters" because they were annoying, worthless, and moody (in that order) with little redeeming qualities. However, Tidus and Squall had integral parts in their storylines. Thus, Vaan should win this due to his complete unimportance and annoying personality (and blatant stupidity). However, were we to acknowledge that Vaan wasn't the true main character in XII aside from being the story's PoV and the model you controlled in towns, then put just Tidus and Squall against eachother...

Squall would be the worst because at least Tidus' intentions are clear and he's a genuinely decent person despite dressing like an asshole and having a wretched voice. Squall is just a moody unlikable bitch and never quite recovers from being a moody unlikable bitch (regardless of why he's a moody unlikable bitch).

It took me like 5 years to finally finish that game after reaching the final dungeon... and when I finally did finish it purely out of obligation, I was somehow further disappointed by the ending cinematic.
