    Time for a new Mouse/Pad - DA/Sensei/Naga/???

Basically my G500, which I love, is beginning to crap out on me and its time for a replacement. The same can be said for my white Razer Destructor mousepad.

I preemptively bought a Naga Molten for blackfriday since it was on sale, however I detest the right side of the mouse. It extends outward like a ring finger rest, and it is glossy and builds residue. It also just feels strange. If this was a 2012 naga with the interchangeable side panels, then I probably wouldn't need this thread.

I play WoW, HoN/Dota/LoL type games, and FPS.

I've gotten used to the weight, size, and feel of the naga coming from the heavier larger G500, but I just can't stand the one side of it. So I feel a Death Adder wouldn't be a bad choice. The issue is that I use around 6+ mouse binds. For my G500 for example, these were things like Thumb, Shift+Thumb, Ctrl+Shift+Thumb for all 3 buttons. The naga cleaned that up a bit, and I use 7 keybinds on it currently and could see myself adding more. So I could see myself grabbing the other version of the naga instead.

A lot of people are also recommending the Sensei to me, and with 3 versions of the mouse I wouldn't know which would be best for me. The MLG looks nice, but the Raw rubberized might be better. Never used an aluminum mouse before.

So as you can see I'm torn, and this is before I even get to mousepads. I love my White destructor, but it is oddly shaped and something more uniform would be great. Something similar in surface would be good, I do like quicker pads.

With these issues and needs, should I just replace the Naga molten with a different naga? Or try to extend my keybinds onto a new DA or sensei? If so, which sensei?

Check out the Logitech G600 for mice. I own a naga epic myself but I've heard positive things about the G600. Steelseries makes great surfaces, nothing better imo. I use a SX surface and it is pretty sweet. You'll never use a mousepad again.

Definitely recommended on a Steelseries mousepad. Big fan of the QcK Mini for toting around with my laptop, and I've played around on a friend's SX before, was really nice.

Not really a fan of any of their non-mousepad products though honestly.

Steelseries' surfaces are great, but you can purchase the same product without their brand name on it, and easily save a few bucks by doing so. I bought my own mousing surface for about $3, but unfortunately, the seller who I bought it from is no longer in business; I used to buy these pads from them for various people all the time, so that's a shame.

Fortunately, you can still pick up a pad with someone else's name on it, and spend less than you would on a Steelseries: http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-1000...64251&sr=1-24&

Hard surface mats can also be had for cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Rough...64279&sr=1-36&

I've been using hard surfaces forever, so I'll probably stick with them.

Looks like the Razer Scarab is the newer version of my Destructor, however I don't think I wanna go with another white surface. While it does last forever before it starts to fade or discolor, I'm just not sure. But right now as far as surfaces go the steelseries 9HD, razer scarab, and maybe the C4-NGen04 are probably what I'm going to choose from.

I'm debating keeping the naga just for wow, and either picking up a sensei or death adder. I just don't know if the DA has enough buttons for me.

The G600 looks pretty cool, and I do usually prefer logitech shaped mice. The only concern is the right side of the mouse, that's the part of the Naga Molten I detest, although the logitech's isn't glossy which is a major difference.

Deathadder is a very comfortable mouse, I've been using that and an Orochi (again for my laptop) for awhile now. Personally though I never use any of the extra buttons on any mouse, so YMMV.

Ended up ordering a Sensei [Raw] as well as steelseries 9HD mouse pad.

I'm probably going to use the naga only for one game, and going to try sanding the glossy side or putting some type of textured or grip tape on it. Since this may not help, I needed a mouse with at least 1 more button than a Death Adder. Amazon had the sensei raw, the rubberized one, for $47 and with prime free 2day shipping. I pretty much couldn't pass on that at that price. The 9HD pad was supposedly "designed along side the sensei/xai" and is supposed to be the best pad for it. Tons of reviews and forums seem to favor the 9HD for not just that specific mouse but in general as well. The other choice was the scarab but supposedly it's scratchier and since it's white I am afraid of it.

I think I've purchased like, three Logitech G500s since like 2008. It's the best, inexpensive mouse you can buy. The G600 has came drastically down in price, so I'm thinking of upgrading. Honesty, I don't see the point of the macro buttons on the side for most games unless you play Tera/FPS; the reason I'd get it is the tracking/weight/design.

Nagas are nice, but in my experience with Razr products they are just as good as cheaper alternatives, such as Logitech. Razr is at the point where they are a branded product in the gamer market so they can charge more for what you are really getting.

The Logitech G600 is fantastic. I don't know how I managed to play stuff without those 12 thumb buttons before now, but I couldn't go back now. I can't speak for how it holds up in FPS games and the like, but for everything else it's golden. It sounds like you don't like your mice that wide so it might not be for you, but for me it's pretty damn comfortable. I love it when product designs take ergonomics into consideration.

Slight thread hijack, but I've been using a G400 for years and need a replacement, only wireless. I looked at the G700, but it looks like it just has way too many macro buttons on it. The G400 was essentially perfect for me... perfect size, perfect scroll wheel, perfect feel overall. If they had a wireless version I'd be set. I'm trying the M510 now, but it's just not cutting it. Any suggestions on a replacement?

I had been thinking about picking up a mechanical keyboard and a new mouse, that deal makes it a no brainer.

Pretty much this, also most of their better more worthwhile products are out of stock (scarab pad, 2013 death adder).

I did much better grabbing the steelseries mouse/pad than I would have with the razer products, especially since amazon had them cheaper.

I've had nothing but problems with Razer products. They really skimp on quality. I wouldn't recommend them.

I have the same complaint. If your naga hits a hardwood floor from a few feet up, it's pretty much toast. My first naga's left- click broke off after 8months of typical use (used a gamepad for xiv so...).

Razer products just generally feel like cheap toys, imo.

It does look that way, but doesn't feel that way. Holding it normally, your fingers are only touching the left/middle/right buttons. The macro buttons are oriented in a way that they're hard to press down accidentally, yet easy to press intentionally. Been using the G700 for a couple years and I love it. Used a G5 for 5-ish years before that, and it was still fully functional when I upgraded. Shit's durable.
