No, no, you combat it by finding a precise percentage of responsibility to ascribe the victim of the crime.

    Huge disconnect indeed.
What reason is there to harp on about her mistakes other than to direct responsibility to her?

If you don't think it's more important to speak up when a rape is occurring vs. a wall being graffitied I don't know what to tell you.

Must be terrible living in this rape culture as a female. Always being on the lookout of rapists around every corner. Also being forced to stay relatively sober in parties full of strangers. Not leaving drinks unguarded when going off to the ladies room like the good olé days. Always having a friend to lookout for you when you're drinking.

The burden of all these extra precautions parents are teaching kids nowadays is almost overwhelming

Alcohol doesn't cause someone to rape you. Being a rapist causes someone to rape you.
Exactly how does that answer this question?

Let's be real. Rape culture isn't everyone and everything in every situation. But yes, situations where a rape happens with a ton of witnesses who don't report it, and a school that tries to cover it up is a part of rape culture.

Feminism changes its arguments and latches onto different buzz words every other year. I can't be bothered to keep up with those wingnuts.

I also disagree that they're pressured into thinking things like "she was passed out, so what?" The concept that something isn't as bad if the victim isn't conscious to experience their being victimized is incredibly common. It stems from the idea that morality is determined by the effect that actions have. For instance, if a girl wakes up and never finds out she was molested/raped while she was unconscious, she'll simply continue on as if nothing happened (because from her perspective/understanding, nothing happened). That doesn't make it ok to do, because if she ever did find out, it's effectively as bad as if she had been conscious the whole time. For a non-permanent injury like molestation/rape (i.e. no tearing of hymen/anus, no STIs given, no pregnancy), the trauma is a result of the knowledge that you were victimized, not actually being victimized.

What on earth does feminism have to do with rape culture? Even if they believe it, I'm sure they also believe the earth is round. Does the earth belong to feminism now?

Because, as evidenced by your very post, feminism has decided to change the label of what we call "culture" into "rape culture". Nowhere in the two bold sentences did I mention rape. Not once. But you still interpret that thought process as only pertaining to rape, instead of everything in general. If I beat a guy with soap in a sock while he's passed out drunk, and the next day he wakes up with no bruises, and no pain (don't ask how, miracles), what I did was still wrong, but it's not as wrong as beating him with the intention to inflict pain for him to experience.

If you go to the dentist, and are put under for oral surgery, and the dentist rapes you while you are under, it's OK!

This thread is the most stupid thread on this forum right now, and maybe ever.

This thread makes me want to just post cat pictures. I don't even like cats.

Rape is bad. Drinking does not and should not necessarily lead to rape. Passing out drunk among a bunch of horny jocks does increase your odds of getting raped and a smart person wouldn't do it. Stupid people are equal under the law, so the previous sentence doesn't matter. The end.

Are you suggesting an attribute to rape culture can ONLY be a part of rape culture? Really? I never said the idea was exclusive. I can honestly say you don't even remotely have a clue on what you're talking about.

My bad, I forgot to use the word "serious" to describe the crimes. I was clearly talking about crimes that involve injury to people. Those are emergencies.

I am not defending what Blubbar is saying by any means but the least you could do is read what is actually written. This is a pretty stupid leap of logic and no one anywhere in the thread said that rape is OK at all in any circumstance.
