This feels so much like the same hopelessness as the season 6 finale of Walking Dead.
Their current situation is absolutely fucked, and there is no doubt in anyone's mind.
Can't wait for next months chapter, no idea how they are going to spin this

Difficult to see how Levi gets there in time to do anything before they're all dead....
That's the point..they're fodder so he can get to giant titan with out him noticing.
I thought I posted this here but I guess only on reddit but that's been lost now more or less. I'll initiate a discussion here.
As far as this skirmish here goes so far (since the assault started), I suspect we're at the tail end of the series here.
- All the major players are on the chessboard, besides Annie and Ymir
- Everything else is more or less resolved and it's all about the basement (which they're standing on top of), Beast Titan and the "village" they come from, if this ever gets a visit
- I suspect this will go on for another 20 chapters
- We are back where we started, location wise. This mirror's the Claymore manga (and probably many other series/films), where they head back to the first city they come across to deal with the final boss/conflict. Even that took a good 50 chapters more or less to resolve
- So far, the Season 2 anime was slated for 2016, and if we don't get any news come this summer, it'll be 2017 probably. I also suspect they are intentionally holding it back now to a point where we will get close to the end and rather than get a season 3 we'll get an end of evangelion style movie for the final arc (it being this particular battle)
I foresee some epic clusterfuck incoming. Levi's carrying Titan serums right? I get the feeling Beast Titan might do some asspulls combined with the serum so what we'll get is some weird melee a trois between Eren Titan, Reiner Titan (he just recovered and I get the feeling his head's not in the right place with his split personality and such), Bertolt, Levi Titan (given the Beast titan's ability to transform humans into titans).
If, I'm wrong, then it can only go the other way:
Levi kills Beast Titan (maybe within 2 chapters)
Reiner and Bertolt surrender (they are under order at this moment in time)
They reveal all
We open basement
We rescue annie
Attack on Titan Village~
I thought Levi was immune to becoming a titan just like Mikasa cuz of the special blood in their family or whatever? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I though the Ackerman family had something special about them...
I always understood the Ackerman blood gives them heightened powers, but yeh otherwise at this point I'm a bit convuluted confused; I have no idea why Levi is carrying the Titan serums he got from the older dude (it's what people keep referencing to so I'm just going along with it).
I seem to remember certain bloodlines like Ackerman also gave immunity to the memory manipulation too.
Stuff like that is where the basement reveal is important, I'd say.
I've expressed my hunch that the titans are a man-made thing, likely rooted in some form of desire for super soldiers. Somewhere along the line, it was likely discovered that it could be used to enslave people, where those of the Ackerman line fought against the use of the serum or found a way to counter it. In backlash, it was possibly revised to create the titans themselves, maybe even surreptitiously spread amongst the population under the guise of a vaccine that was then universally triggered or simply activated individually once someone got angry, really scared, or whatever.
Then again, could just be one giant eco-warning from the author that humans need to stop destroying the Earth else mother nature will concoct some form of apocalypse to wipe us out.
Ah yes Ackerman blood is immune to mind control for sure, definitely remember reading that in the manga.
I just googled Blue Gender, it looks vicious. Can you elaborate on the vibe? I might pick it up.
Blue Gender is basically Starship Troopers with less locker scenes.
Don't want to give away too much spoilers but kind of has a mix of mother earth concocting something to wipe us out and us being stupid and playing with it which accidentally makes giant bug monsters that push humanity to the brink. Mix in some space stuff, us not learning our lesson and deciding to use something designed to wipe us out to fight back, human experimentation etc . Gets pretty bloody and sometimes sexy unless you watch the censored version they aired on cartoon network. Was pretty good imo though might be nostalgia goggles. Was one of the first series I watched when really getting into buying/downloading anime
Enough plot (or potential plot) similarities that kind of feels similar in a way and probably what biases me into agreeing with Arus there
Time to get your dose for the month.

Gooooo Levi.
Oh man bowl-cut guy...![]()
I understand that this manga's modus operandi is "Shit Happens", but please let Levi get a mortal blow on Beast-Titan. Sword through the eye was a great teaser, but that high was short lived.
I laughed when beast titan celebrated with his two hands up lol. It looked a little silly.
However, this chapter resolved it way quicker than anticipated. With him on the retreat, they just need to capture/convert Reiner and Bert now? Maybe this will be enough to convince those 2 that he doesn't give a shit about them.
Otherwise now we just need to know the fate of Hange's squad. The death score was rather high this time.
Also looks like that serum will never get used here.
Please don't set the flags with those end quotes of the chapter.
I was so hyped reading Levi section. My god. I know what I'd like to happen and the Manga has done an incredible job of keeping me guessing but still the hype for Team Levi is unreal right now.

Pissed off that he didn't just end it quickly. Interrogations never go well when you're not in the position to do so. It's like they didn't learn when they tried this with Annie. It's LITERALLY the same exact situation of how he lost his entire team all over again. From the blinding to the fact that they think they had a grip of the situation to get that cocky. Hopefully Levi has plot armor :\
