I just got tired of the old Limsa theme because it was all I heard from alpha through beta. By the time the game launched, I couldn't have started in Limsa even if I wanted to.

Really? I've felt the complete opposite, Feb seems like a really dry month for me as I wait for SimCity and Heart of the Swarm. Maybe I'll take a closer look at release dates and see what else is coming out soon. Either way though I'm definitely anxious to see the new beta and how it changed since alpha.

Damnit, I wanted to stand up and salute any time I walked into town. This is catchy and breezy, sure, but where is the inspiration?!

I agree~ I thought they were just changing the Gridania area themes because they were universally panned.

The original Limsa theme was one of the few gems in 1.0 imo. It would have been nice to have a remix like Bastok -> Bastok [S] rather than an entirely new theme. I didn't like most of the 1.0 soundtrack so I'm glad it's being redone, but Sokens music is kinda generic and forgettable.

According to the blog post where this link was posted it's actually LL theme + two La Noscea tracks. Makes sense since there were some sudden changes with weird parts.

In regards to that theme they released, they said it's abridged, so from what I can tell there are chunks of the song missing from this version that would otherwise make the transitions a little less jarring. I get the feeling the final full version of the LL theme will be alot more fluid and easier to listen to. Not sure why they released it like this...

Don't forget your starting city will be determined by your starting class... with a free choice of Grand Company down the road.

I'm kind of glad they are changing Limsa. That theme reminds me of 1.0 more than anything else (just because of beta).

That's not to say I didn't like it, but it should stay in the 1.0 era.
