Sports fan angst after a loss is one of my favorite and least favorite things. Favorite because it is comedy gold, least favorite because it is so goddamn dumb.

Kipper and Backlund both placed on IR. Kipper is only placed for a week though with a sprained MCL, but Backlund is 4~6, which I think hurts more. Backlund has been playing well this year.

I do agree at the tieing goal could have been refused, if we look at the NHL rules. But we got a lucky win on Ottawa and now an unlucky lost vs Buffalo so now we are tied

Doesnt seem that bad, other than the fact you seem upset about the potshots at Buffalo.

I blame last night entirely on Ryan White. It was a fucking stupid 4 minute penalty to take, for no reason at all, at that point in the game. Ott did what he does best, goad people into taking stupid penalties by wanting to fight then pussy out, like he did to Ryan White...so in essence, he IS a piece of shit.

Another point in White's favour is that John Scott grabbed him from the bench, which is supposed to be an automatic 5 minute major, and it wasn't called.

I looked at a video of this, its really not much of a grab, and I'm not entirely sure what the rule for that is, what constitutes a grab. He more reached over then one of his team mates slapped his hand away. I'm pretty sure the ruling involves from the bench getting legitimately involved, so yeah, theres whining.

I'm surprised, rather, I'm NOT surprised, that despite all the Goaltender Interference they've been calling thus far this season (even calling it on shit thats clearly not goaltender interference, Toronto's disallowed goal against Montreal for example), they pretty much allowed Ott (hey shitface once again) to push Budaj into the net. Un-fucking-real.

Tyler Ennis was stopped by Budaj in the shootout, but the puck came back to him, and he wired the rebound off of Budaj's head.

Is this whining? Fights will start when a player shoots the puck at the opposing net after the whistle...so why should it be ok because its in the shootout? The goal obviously wouldnt have counted since you cant double tap, so why do it?

I looked at it as more of a reaction thing than a, "I'm gonna hit this back in Budaj's face" thing. Still woulda mildly pissed me off as a Habs fan, but not to the extent that the writer of that blog was.
