"Players will no longer be able to win a faceoff by touching the puck with a hand and doing so will result in a penalty. Some of more successful faceoff experts in the league had turned to this tactic, with Steve Ott and Zenon Konopka likely the two players most affected by this rule change.

In addition, grabbing another player's facemask will also result in a minor penalty."

It allows them to park him in the AHL and call him up if something happens to Leighton, but not having to keep him eating up a roster spot. There's a quota of games played where once you're past it they can't just freely put you in the minors without you cheating waivers first.

Certain players were pretty much falling on the puck and passing it back with a free hand.

They should add a rule that at the end of games falling on the puck during a draw to stop the other team from getting a scoring chance is a 2 minute minor with the game clock being reset to before the puck was dropped. I hate seeing draws in the offensive zone with 10 second left the D player falling on the puck to stop the other team, its annoying.
