I forget which goalie, but one of Wheelers shot the goalie ducked too and the puck hit the crossbar. I think it was Holtby. Lucky for him it didn't go in lol.

Crosby eliminates a lot of the scoring, but their porous defense is worse now than normal with Letang and Martin both out. Also Fleury sucks.

Yeah, he's an NHL ready bottom six center that's hugely physical; he was on the docket to get called up this year but our Center depth is actually pretty good. Lots of PIMs, fights, and big hits, but actually a pretty solid playmaker. I see him ending up as a 3rd line Center scoring ~40 pts a year.

NSH may have won the trade somewhat, but I think half the Caps fans crying on HFBoards have never seen the Preds play. Erat is quite possibly one of the most consistent forwards in the NHL; guy has had 50+ points every season since like 03-04 IIRC on one of the worst offensive clubs in the NHL. He has fantastic puck control and is a great skater with very solid two-way play to boot, even by NSH standards where every forward is good both ways. He has been my favorite player in the NHL for like five years now and I am really sad he was traded.

Frankly I'm nervous; I hope Forsberg is as awesome as advertised, but we just traded our best forward for him. Strategically it makes sense to go for elite prospects given the trajectory of our team, but man it's Erat; thought he would be a Pred for life.

If any of you have wondered where I've been this past week and a bit, I'm on a different continent on the opposite side of the world and just got internet access for the first time since coming here.

I don't really have much to say besides that I'm not really surprised that we unloaded Iggy and J-Bo. Pittsburgh was surprising as I heard that it was Boston initially, but I'm glad he went to Pittsburgh as we got the guaranteed 1st round pick, over the rumoured conditional pick with Boston. And J-Bo to St. Louis isn't too surprising. That team is always looking to get more and more D.

I have no idea about the prospects though. 4 of em, a couple college kids, 1 guy who is in the minors and was undrafted, and 1 seemingly so~so goalie in the Swedish Elite League.

The thing I'm happiest about is probably Kipper though. I'm glad to see he's wanting to finish his career in Calgary. He's such a hard working and soft spoken guy, a big fan favourite like Iggy is.

In conclusion, GO PITTSBURGH GO!!! (And to a much lesser extent, St. Louis too. Albeit, now that they have the curse of Jay Boumeester, they'll never see the playoffs again).
