I was just showing my fiance footage of when the Canes won the Cup in 06 (we live in NC and have become heavily invested this year, sadly I didn't in 06) and then some videos of the Whalers last game (which I was at.) I'll probably watch some NYR 94 footage in a bit. I'm getting so psyched for the playoffs. It never fails every year (except 05 BLECH) that no matter who is in it that I get emotionally wrapped up in some team's run and just love hockey. I remember tearing up when Giguere lost to the Devils. Damn I love this game so much. ESPN.com had an article about how the lockout really didn't hurt the sport today. Judging from this thread and hockey fans in general, it's pretty clear why.

And Blue, sure be upset you guys were eliminated but your city got it's Pro Hockey team back. That is every Hartford / Quebec City's fans' dream come true.

Hartford fan?

I was a Rangers fan first, but I grew up in CT and ended up going to a bunch of Whalers games which got me invested in them as well.
Now I live in NC so my old home town team is my home town team again.

The only person I hate from the move to NC is Peter Karmanos (the owner) because he definitely dicked Hartford over, but I can't help myself they've always been my home team and I love hockey. I hope Hartford gets a team back someday. It's a hockey passionate market, but most people don't think it's big enough unfortunately.
