Going for Espeon. Hidden ability is what sold me. Because Sylveon's hidden ability just makes normal moves fairy type and that doesn't seem like a very good ability when most normal moves it can learn are physical and its going to have real low attack.

So Now I need to ask. What's a good fast way to make Eevee love me? Just do a lot of that poke amie stuff?

I kinda crashed last night, after having hatched 3-4 boxes of Tyrunts and stalking reddit waiting for people to post Eevee and Ditto safari codes... I did get 1 Ditto safari and 1 Eevee added finally, but now I have to make sure my daughter can get to the end of her game so I can catch them on the Korean-language version and trade them back to English ^^; I did catch a few myself, but I need to free up some more space since I've been saving some of the Wonder Trade critters for use in the lottery. I finally pulled out my mother Tyrunt and gave her an Everstone, so at least most of the future babies should come out with Adamant nature instead of all randoms, but for now if anyone wants I've saved several female Tyrunt babies with various natures and a few male Adamant ones, just hit me up if you see me online.

Could I bug you for a few Eevees? If it's not too much trouble, would like to have one with each stat maxed that I can then lock away and incest breed till I have Eevees with 6 eyes..

So, I have 1000s of questions on this game. The last Pokemon Game I played was Blue some 13 years ago. Breeding, Pokeamie, Super training, and all this other jazz is so confusing. I've got the base concept of Breeding down. Ditto and a Pokemon make an egg and with that you get level 1 Pokemon of the Not Ditto. That's all I got so far on Breeding. I don't get this whole shiny pokemon from breeding, or the stats/natures/whatever shit from breeding.

I thought Super training was good for mid maxing stats. Didn't learn about what a massive mistake I made till the 3rd gym(Just finished the 5th now). So playing catch up hard there. I do catch every wild pokemon I encounter(Only singles of the ones I don't have) and god damn, so many of these pokemon are...just weird. Anytime I see a Gen 1 Pokemon I basically throw it on my main six. The only one I haven't switched out was my Fennekin. I've jumped around on what to use so many times.

Does anyone have some good solid tips for me on what's the best to do for someone like me? I've just been grinding anything I find cool to level 55(Current level of my party(And that also includes mazing out two stats for that Pokemon in the Super training)), using it till something new catches my eye and starting over.

I just hit 100 hours aswell lol. I'm so confused on what options to do. I've just been breeding starters for friends to be nice. I've already given away 9 Eevees I've caught too. I plan on having each Eeveelution

So many little dinosaur eggs trying for my little blue T-rex... Only about half of them have the Adaptability trait, and all but 1 were male. I'll probably launch the rejects into Wonder Trade later tonight ^^; It's so addicting. I only had time to catch 1 imposter Ditto as well, I need to go back and buy some more balls. Honestly, you shouldn't bother worrying about Super Training until you finish the game and want to play against other people online, the main game is already easy enough as it is and Super Training gets really boring by the time you're maxing your 4th, 5th, 6th pokemon. There's also a faster way to max your EVs once you get to the endgame.

Several of the new pokemon are actually pretty good if you're willing to give them a shot (Goomy, Honedge, Fletchling, Noibat, just to name a few), though a lot of the old ones are still pretty good too. So just use whatever you like. If you're curious on what they can do, you can always visit the Smogon forums and take a look at what people are coming up with, or check PokemonDB for general info like move lists, types and when things evolve.

Also, you should Wonder Trade if you're catching a lot of pokemon. It'll help you fill up your dex entries faster and every now and then you might actually get something good.

If people want to throw Iron Tarkus (or Ole Burnsey, still not sure which name shows up in flist) some befriending power, please feel free to do so! I want to try and get this shiny eevee to be a shiny espeon before I go to sleep tonight.
Of course this is still assuming the pokemon gain friendship by just walking.

So, I'll try not to wall-o-text this too much.. (lawl, it's totally gonna happen..)

Ditto and any pokemon will result in the other type, but there are specific egg groups, that pokemon can breed with. So a charmander can breed with other charmanders, as well as any other pokemon in that egg group. The reason why that's helpful is because breeding with other pokemon can result in it learning moves it normally couldn't just through leveling. There are two reasons for breeding -- to either make a superior pokemon or to try to get a shiny. Shiny pokemon are just for the coolness factor and don't actually offer any benefits. If you want a shiny though, breeding two pokemon from different regions (one from the US and one from Japan for instance) has a higher chance of producing a shiny.

As far as breeding for superior stats, your pokemon all have a random nature assigned. Depending on what nature influences what stats gain points as they level up. So, if you had two identical pokemon, both the same type, both at level 100, if one had a positive nature for speed and the other didn't, the first would have a higher speed stat. With natures, one stat receives a boost and one is penalized. So if you had, say a Noibat, you would want to either have it with a speed or special attack bonus and have its attack stat reduced. The other reason to breed is for the sake of individual values, or IVs. Every pokemon has hidden values that result in differentiation between its stats. Each stat can have up to 31 IVs that are determined at birth and cannot be changed. A pokemon which has 31 IVs in speed would have a speed stat 31 points higher than a pokemon with 0 IVs in that stat at 100. So, I have a lvl 100 Noibat with 31 speed IVs and a speed stat of 379. If it didn't have those 31 points, its speed stat would only be 348. These stats are scaled at lower levels, so its worth having them.

The other way to improve your pokemon is through EV training or super training. Now, before I get into this, I will say that if you haven't super trained your pokemon "correctly", don't worry about it for now. You can just get a reset bag and reset all their EVs -- far easier than it used to be, but that's a whole different rant.. So, everytime you fight a wild pokemon, you get EVs. Fight a bidoof, get a HP EV. Fight a Zubat, get a speed EV. For every four EVs, you get +1 to that stat at level 100 -- but, there's a cap, otherwise everyone would just have all stats at 999. Super training, in effect, replaces this. Now, as soon as you get a new pokemon, you can immediately super train it up and not worry about getting the wrong EVs. Similar to natures, the goal is to boost a pokemon's relevant stats as much as possible. So going back to Noibat, its meant to be an attacker and its special attack is far greater than its attack. So I maxed its speed and special attack which will result in it having higher stats at level 100.

Honestly, to get through the basic game, natures, IVs, EVs, they aren't really that important (because you can just outlevel any opponent). They really come into play against other players and are really helpful for the Battle Maison (although I'm sure eventually someone will come up with a strategy that will make that a simple formulaic routine). If you're just working through the game, I'd recommend not worrying about all this stuff and just focus on enjoying the game and beating the Elite 4. Afterwards, then you can lose your sanity working on all of it~

I don't know if it's max.. It's supposed to be "high friendship", but I don't know what that translates to.. With Sylveon, I've heard you only need to have 2 hearts, so if the others are the same, then it's not max.

it doesn't have to be max, it can just be lv2... I just feed it like 20 vitamins cause I'm lazy, run to a massage and usually it's enough to make it happy to evolve! Save and test/reset with a rare candy for speed

Or you can also use the coin trick, keep a soothe bell on the pokemon and then run laps around the tower in the city hands-free for 10 minutes or so, they'll have max love for you after that. Remember Amie doesn't effect friendship!

That's what I was doing in the pic I posted above.
And amie does affect friendship. I used the stylist to pet it after some running and it leveled up to lv2.
