Currently breeding Tyrunts in hope of a Shiny (parents from different regions). If anyone wants me to keep an eye out for one with certain stats, let me know.
Also, this is the first time I've ever done breeding in any of the games, is there anything special I should be doing?
Currently, I get the egg, then run around back and forth until it hatches. Should I be getting more than 1 egg to hatch at a time?
I always just have a flame body Pokémon, and fill the rest of my slots with eggs. Then I have just been waiting to have 5 eggs and then use hatching power. Once all hatch, hatching power is usually gone, and I'll deposit what I had/release crappy ones.
I do mostly similar; Pokemon with Flame Body in first spot, get an egg, go back and forth, talking to the man every so often to get another egg. Once I get 3 eggs I'll use Hatching Power. Once my party is full up and I think I can get another egg, I'll run into the pc box, deposit the hatched egg and get a new one. rinse and repeat until I think I have enough that the chance of one of them having the stats I want is probable.
Not sure if this way or the way Scythiroth explained is more efficient.
Yeah, I really have no idea lol. I don't have hatching power 3 yet and haven't really hatched a ton of things so far. I'll probably try a few more ways before settling on a certain way of doing it.
Man, Sylveon has some beastly SpDef.. got beaten by one in the Battle Maison.. round 39...... don't wanna talk about it............
Yes your party should be basically full of eggs by the time the first egg hatches. Just talk to him everytime you make a tirp across the road to see if you can get a new one. Hatch them all, check IV's, change parents if needed, repeat.
In other news wtf can i breed to go with my Scissor and Mega gengar... I'm so lost lol
How does one check IVs and what are IVs? lol I'm way too Gen 1.
I'm in the process of wonder trading everything garbagey that I caught during my runthrough of the game (something like 2 or 3 boxes worth of mons) and I've noticed that the quality of pokemon I'm getting from it dropped drastically since the kids (at least the EST/CST ones) got home from school lol. NOTHING BUT BUNNELBYS
@myrrh: you can check them in Kiloude City (the city you get access to from the Prof after beating the Elite 4) in the Pokemon center there. There's a guy who tells you if your pokemon's stats are good or bad. I guess if he says "these stats can't be beat!", any of the ones he listed are 31s (in other words the best you can get). There's lots of good posts explaining in depth about IVs/EVs back in this thread somewhere...
After you beat the game and get access to the extra city, there's a guy in the Pokecenter who will check them for you.
The way I've had IVs explained to me is essentially a Pokemon's genes. For each stat (HP, Atk, Def, SpAtk, SpDef, Spd), the pokemon can have between 1-31 points. These are scaled, but at 100, a Pokemon will have 31 extra points in that stat. While that might not seem very big, those stats (especially in speed) can make a big deal in online battles and the Battle Maison.
Alllso umm, do all female Pikachus have a cleft tail?
Okay, it's interesting they put in such minute changes for some genders of pokemon.
OK, for those of you on my Friend List, I've JUST beaten the E4 + Champion. Someone check my Safari to see what my 3rd Pokémon is in there so I can add it to the list.
Anyone have an Impish ditto? ; ; I've caught like 50 ditto's and not a single impish.
