Just got my gold card. Wooo.
Just got my gold card. Wooo.
Fighting pokemon are too good for 3v3, ground, fighting, and rock targets the majority of powerful pokemons weaknesses. Fighting in general targets most, adding in the huge HP, attack and good defense most fighting types get and well...
I'm loving my bulk up earthquake/stone edge/ drain punch Adaman ATTK/SDEF/ 4 HP Conkeldurr so much.
Yeah, I've noticed those moves are just fucking ridiculously OP. I don't know if they're going to do anything to balance it but you can just basically give something Earthquake or equivalent and watch shit fall down. For this reason I wonder if Gogoat isn't a fantastic choice with Grass Knot, Horn Leech, Aerial Ace, Solar Beam or other good moves. It doesn't have any one fantastic stat but it's got a great overall spread and it'll resist earthquake and easily take down Ground and Rock types. I suppose there's a lot of ways to fuck up grass types pretty bad too but thing has a pretty ridiculous HP and Sp.Def isnt bad either. So many goddamn things resist grass moves though...
Sadly I haven't actually seen anyone choose to use him though... I wonder if I'm overlooking something. Oh yeah, and he can learn Earthquake too, for the lulz.
the StoneQuake combo has a ton of coverage but it isn't OP
Stone edge has shit accuracy and EQ obviously misses flying and levitate pokes
gogoat has crappy typing and the strong offensive stats are offset by the low speed. combined with weak defenses and it's not going to get many attacks off
lol..no. They'll never 'balance' moves, just as they shouldn't. If a person feels they're weak to stuff like Earthquake or Stone Edge.. you need to build around it. Honestly, Scizor isn't a bad counter for Conk.. or you could use Reuni even to wall it. Gengar can come in on an EQ with Levitate of course too and wreck shop. Plenty of counters.
also for Gogoat, you'd never want to give any poke three same-type moves. That'd work out super poorlyUsed to be cool back in the day but lol, definitely not now ;p
It's just stupid most fighting types can use earthquake, which counters the most types in the game(5), and the only other type countering this many is fighting(5) which fighting type pokemon get a stab bonus for +50% dmg with, then a lot can also use stone edge which is rock(the low ACC does suck sometimes though), and only 3 of the pokemon types in the game resist rock while 4 types are weak to it. Adding this on top of super high base attack and hp, as well as very good DEF(on most fighting pokemon at least) and you have a recipe for disaster.
I know it has counters, but having a fighting type with Earthquake/stone edge/fighting move of choice + X on your team in 3v3 is a huge advantage and gives you a lot of coverage and leeway, I'd HATE to live without it.
Are ranked online 3v3 too? I've only done unranked and it was 3v3, 3v3 kinda encourages use of good "all around" pokemon that counter a lot of types like a good fighting does, would prefer 6v6 ; ;
yes, ranked are 3v3, although each player's 6 pokes are shown and you choose your 3
Aw man, I'm such a pokemon noob. Oh well.
Sorry, been stuck in two long runs through Rotation battles.. one ended badly in the 40s, other is still going. Having a Meowstic with Reflect/Light Screen with light clay is definitely helping though. If I fail or win this one, I'll get online~
That's right after the last stuff with Team Flare, right? It's pretty close. One more Gym, then E4, both of which occur pretty quickly. Then you can do w/e you want~
From clearing one of the Battle Maison challenges or something else?
Edit: wait, gold is stage 5, no? What's the fourth thing?
Thanks for the Eevees~
np, I may as well be the eevee pimp, I have like five thousand of them. I'm honestly kind of tired of looking at them at this point lol
Silenka, it's okay being a pokemanz noob :> we all were at some point and some are still learning so it's all good!
But yes, EQ does cover the most types, but as it's not STAB on Conk, it's not as OP so if something takes neutral damage, it'll be like 'lolno' to it :D
Still. He's a great poke!
Finally beat Pokemon. Only 140 Hours in. Now to raise a super badass team of something.
What counts as good these days? Last time I played Pokemon getting a Dragonite made you a god.
this, getting a gooey Goodra is pretty nice altho it is a S Def tank i've seen a few video's with one wearing an assault vest and had to take 3 moonblasts to finish it, Drahonite is ok if it has multi-scale but otherwise there fodder for the very likely Greninja protean ice beam or any fairy type
Mawile(mega)
