Probably the most important differences between the two are the version-exclusive Mega stones. Theres only one of each available per game, so getting someone to trade you their exclusive stone isn't exactly easy. X gets Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Charizard X, Mega Tyranitar, Mega Manetric, Mega Pinsir. Y gets Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Aggron, Mega Heracross, Mega Houndoom.

Donno what you mean by that, Darkrai was released a few times over Wi-fi and other events since diamond and pearl. Most recent one was last year in like May. Also, I have a few 5IV Riolu laying around if you want one for breeding fodder.

Supposedly it was in Europe too. http://www.serebii.net/events/dex/491.shtml You basically have to camp Serebii to know when these things happen though, since nintendo doesn't announce half of them.

4IV is cool for the Riolu. Can trade me any time you see me on. I think we already added each other but here's my code just in case 3952-7553-2367

Okay thanks guys. I really enjoy the stories that go along with the games and I didn't want to make a mistake by going for the lighter story [a darker story does seem more interesting]. In the end I do prefer the Legendary from X so I'm probably going with that one~

I hope it never is. I'm honestly not sure if it's worth running that though instead of CB or Life Orb. Very much a toss up.

Gems are only 30% boost in this Gen compared to 50% from Gen V sadly. Not sure where they come from in this Gen but if you mean from Gen V, you can't transfer items via the bank.

no Gems sadly (or at least no flying one) i've seen a few people using staraptor but choice banded into close combat

Of course, Gale Wings is it's hidden ability, so the only way you'd see one at the start is if they showed in a horde. But yeah, even with the reduction in gem damage (it's down to like 33% extra oomph) it'd pack a nice single-shot punch. Still likely rather have Brave Bird, Talonflame is a fire-and-forget missile at your opponents.

(And like Mega-Kangaskhan, it really, really becomes sick with Healing Wish to bring it back in at full health and unstatused.)
