Fry's has a deal atm, it's only $20 off, but $20 is better than nothing. Don't remember how much it is off the original. Only in store though, so not much good if you don't have one nearby..

Should I preorder this and get whatever you get for preordering or should I just download it?

On the one hand I like having a physical copy. On the other, being able to swap games without dicking around with cartridges would be mega awesome. IE a way to play AC and XY at the same time.

Is the Torchic with pre-orders only? I want to wait till black Friday to get a 3ds, but if necessary can still get the game and activate any bonuses like that on my friend's 3ds

From what I understand you just download it through wifi once the game launches. Think I read it'll be available to download for 3 or 4 weeks after launch. So you don't have to preorder to get it, but if you wait until BF it probably won't be available to download by then.

Yup. You just do the mystery gift thing you currently do in B/W to get the special gift thing. I missed out on genesect in BW2 because I waited to buy it until later.

Found this on IGN. So yea, theres now Mega Charizard X and Y. Y is the one everyones seen, but X... holy fuck. Changes to Fire/Dragon and looks like this:

Anyone else think the flames coming out of Mega Charizard X look terrible when animated..?

Also, have they mentioned if any of the new pokemon have mega forms?

Edit: Also, it looks like you'll be able to wait till black Friday to pick it up and still get Torchic. If these are right, the event is supposedly going till January 15, 2014.

Last month it was revealed that fan favorite, Charizard, can achieve Mega Evolution, an extremely powerful form that only certain Pokémon can access during battles in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games, which launch worldwide October 12 for the Nintendo 3DS. It is now known that Charizard can Mega Evolve into either Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y, depending on which Mega Stone Charizard holds—Charizardite X or Charizardite Y. When Charizard Mega Evolves into Mega Charizard X, its body turns black and its flames burn blue with increased heat. It also changes types when it Mega Evolves, changing from Fire- and Flying-type to Fire- and Dragon-type!

The previously announced Mega Charizard is in fact Mega Charizard Y. Players will need to obtain Charizardite Y in Pokémon Y in order to Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard Y. Mega Charizard Y’s Sp. Attack increases significantly, and its Ability changes to Drought, increasing the power of Fire-type moves. Mega Charizard Y can learn the Fire-type move Blast Burn which becomes even more powerful with the effect of the Drought Ability.

Mega Charizard X is being introduced for the first time today. Players can obtain Charizardite X in Pokémon X and Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard X. Mega Charizard X’s Attack increases significantly and its Ability also changes to Tough Claws, which raises the power of moves that make direct contact. This Ability comes in handy when Mega Charizard X learns the Dragon-type move Dragon Tail which can force an opposing Pokémon to switch out during battle while also dealing damage.

Oh. I usually liked my Charizard as a Sp attacker but oh well. Can't pass up that badass X form. Plus I like Mewtwo X better too.
