Hidden Power's BP is now a static 60 instead of variable.
Mega Absol gets Magic Bounce.
Mega Gyrados gets Mold Breaker.
Horde battles feature Pokemon with "rare abilities" as mentioned by an NPC in game. $10 it's Dream World/Hidden Abilities.
It looks like Vivillion's wing patterns are based on your position in the real world when you catch/evolve it.

To piggyback: I've never used the Nintendo eShop before. Should I be terrified? Is there gonna be a reason to have the catridge/card? (I had a bad habit of losing my DS cards incl my badass Pearl and it's a mistake I don't want to repeat)

There's no reason to have the cartridge, AFAIK. The only time I've used the eShop was for Fire Emblem, and it was a quick and painless download then. You shouldn't have too much trouble, unless its servers are overloaded at midnight by all the rabid Pokemon fans... which I wouldn't rule out.

The only problem you can have is if your 3ds breaks cuz eshop account is linked on 3ds

Apparently the 3 original legendary birds are catchable. Someone on Reddit posted a picture of a Moltres in-game, and I doubt the game is already being hacked. Also, is it safe to say Pokemon isn't a kid-targeted game anymore? I'm pretty sure the majority of players are in their 20s and 30s.

It is known. However the legendary birds apparently flee before you even send out your pokemon/the menu loads?

Friend Safari is located in the post-game. In it, it takes everyone on your friend list and makes them a specific type. When selected, Pokémon of that type appear (it'll take a while to catalogue, please bear with us). The Pokémon found here can have their Hidden Abilities. Unlike the Safari Zone, however, you can battle and use your own balls. Wild Gen1 starters are allegedly possible here.

You can get give the Poké Radar later in the game.

You can get the Vs. Recorder early in the post-game.

So are charmander, squirtle, and bulbasaur going to be wild pokemon in this game? or are you going to have to trade/import to get them?

From what I've read, you have a battle with the Kalos Professor (whatever his name is) shortly after you finish the 1st gym. His team is Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle. After you beat him, he lets you pick one of the starters to keep.

There's some confusion with how the Friend Zone Safari thing works since so few people currently have the game, but there have been reports of Wild Wartotles. This is especially exciting when you realize Dream World/Hidden abilities are possible in the Friend Safari shit.

Also Aron/Larvitar families being exclusive to X/Y definitely seems to point more towards Mega Evos for their final forms imo

Fuck yes! If he was X exclusive I would have jumped ship and switched my preorder. Very nice.

Friend safari sounds really cool. So happy I can get hidden ability Pokemon outside of dream world. And old starters maybe. X/Y just keeps getting better and better!

I'm guessing they take basically any non-legendary Pokes of your friends particular type and just toss them into the wild. And I think someone said something about a Mega Agrron/Tyranitar balloon being sighted somewhere in the game, so Mega forms are probably coming.

People also need to keep in mind that this is the first time a Pokemon game has a game-chaning feature available to it: DLC. Who knows the crazy crap they're going to let you buy off the eShop down the road.

I keep seeing it pop up, and again don't know if fact etc, but it appears the versions differ in regards to story as well (lol pokemon story). Sort of like Ruby/Sapphire-- the bad guy's goal is different according to the version; also Y is apparently a "darker story" which is fitting for the Dark legendary, while X is "light-hearted" which fits the Fairy.
