There really does seem to be too many pokemon to catch, especially in the beginning of the game.
I stay in an area just long enough to catch all the pokemon I can and I'm now running with a lv31 Frogadier, 27Ivysaur, 30Cumbusken, and 25 Pikachu
Though it probably doesnt help a lot of times it seems I can't even take 2 steps without triggering another wild battle.

Btw the more pokemans you catch, the higher you capture rate is for all pokemon as well as the chance for critical capture

the 3DS is my gf's so it's under her name, i just came back from a coffee shop where i faced someone in the vicinity randomly, i dono how the fuck he acquired a snorlax but he whooped my ass... he prolly had a lot of time already invested in this, i only had 2 hours.

You get a snorlax pretty close to right after the first gym.

Only 8+ hrs in and no 2nd badge..is that normal now? Stopped after getting Tyrant from the fossil.
