I ran into a Riolu and accidentally killed it and haven't seen another. Are you suggesting Riolu in a SpAtk Sweeper role? I haven't been able to find someone I like yet based on the discussions I've read for that position. Seems Gardevoir would be better in the defensive side, where I placed Sylveon. Might be worth swapping Gardevoir for Sylveon because of resistances.

Oh no, I was mentioning it because you said Lucario for your endgame but didn't see that you had it listed in your party so I wasn't sure if you knew it was there. Some people didn't see Riolu out there and moved on.

You get his megastone through the story. Raising your own perfect Riolu->Lucario for it is handy. You don't get Gardev's until you beat the game.

As far as beating the game, you can easily beat it with a solid 4 man party. I had a Linoone doing absolutely nothing besides picking up Ultra Balls and other stuff off the ground. Plus leveling that thing raises what sort of crap it found. Haven't seen a nugget but making money in this game is easy.


TIP #IDKHowmany.

1) Turn off battle animations.
2) Equip Amulet coin on your first pokemon.
3) Have a friend give you Prize Money Lv3. If you can coordinate, have them give it to you before you KO the trainer's last pokemon. You should be kind and do the same back to them.
4) Run to the next trainer and go go go.
5) Money!

Works great when you're in a place with a lot of trainers. I think I was getting 50K+ off of some of the better trainers.

doing online battles for the first time, and man am I getting my ass kicked.
I don't feel too bad about it thought because 1) aside from my greninja, I haven't put much care into leveling them up, 2) I keep using Shedinja because I think he's fun, but everyone seems to have a quick and easy answer for him lol and 3) Half the pokemon people are using I dont even know what type they are let alone what moves they can use.

I can take some time to Thief you one if you wanna keep Pikachu. I'm not much of a battler. I just like collecting rare pokemon like Shinies or breeding.

Correct. Your Safari will get +1 more pokemon when you beat the game. You can't visit it but your friends can. In addition, friends who don't own Pokemon and never logged in will also have Safari. I have a few who hate Pokemon games but they still have Safaris.

Also they have to be online the same time as you for it to open up. Once you identify it, you don't need that requirement anymore it seems.

Ex: My friend beat the game last night, I made him log in, his 3rd pokemon was the Klefki. I'm at work right now, no wifi and I can see the Klefki appears there still. *edit* I just walked in his safari to check. Yup, Klefki on the first encounter, lol.

Depends on your luck! Someone said they took 8 hours farming Pikachus with the Static effect.
Someone said it was their first attempt with the Status effect.
I went through 8 Pikachus, probably... 20 minutes. You can also try to poke radar chain them with my method. Highest I got was 5 though, hard as hell in this version. Need tips.

Bleh, I was totally ready to skip this game after thinking it was just going to be the same thing again with some extra pokemon, but this topic and a few friends got me really wanting to play it and will probably be doing so this weekend. >.> All the new stuff added sounds quite nice. Not much of a battler though, mostly just like collecting. =x Will post a friend code when I have one and add people, etc.

Might be the wrong topic for this, but does the 3DS work better with more wifi? I swear I had issues with that on my normal DS with Pokémon games in the past.
