I've never gotten a shiny. I've done so much poke-breeding over the years, hatching egg after egg (I used to keep count. I stopped after 6k eggs. I'm not kidding.), and that little shakey bush shit from platinum or whatever it was where you had to chain pokemon. I just don't care any more.

My shiny Bidoof from Diamond laughs in my face -- got that while EV training Glaceon. Are shineys more common from eggs or in the wild? I should probably evolve it so it can keep Rocl's Bibarel company. That said, I've always heard that Poke'rus is rarer (although now it seems pointless..) and I randomly got that while EV training Lampert in White.

Same rate from eggs and wild, though you can use a cross region parent for a much increased shiny chance (google Medusa Method).

My daughter and I are around gym 7, should be at or past e4 tonight. No luck getting shiny Tyrunt babies, just ordinary ones so far and all male with so-so natures. I'll probably just launch them into the Wonder Trade, but holding onto them for now just to keep track of how many I've hatched ^^; Unless somebody wanted one... Really I should probably breed on my daughter's game since that way I could have babies with the [KOR] tag on them to trade out, making them a bit more desirable, but I don't know the translations for all the natures in Korean so it'd be harder to determine how good each baby was right away.

I've added everyone on the spreadsheet to all 3 DS systems, and I put my 3 codes onto the list as well for easier reference. If anyone knows what is in my friend safari they can fill in that info for me. There's no safari on the NA DS yet since those games haven't arrived... the package is stuck somewhere in customs and should be here any day...

Mina, any chance on trading high IV NA ditto for a high IV JP ditto, doesn't have to be right away, but maybe down the line sometime? (nature doesn't matter)

I got a ditto with IVs: 31 / 31 / 1, 2, 3 / 18, 19, 20 / 31 / 31

On another note, I don't even know what I want to make for a team. So far, my best torchic has capped HP/ATK/SDEF/SPD IV's, but I think I can get a HP/ATK/DEF/SDEF/SPD one in a few more hatches.

Only shiny I've ever seen/caught was a shiny Krabby way back in the original Silver. The battery in my cart died years ago, so now it only exists in my memory

If it makes you guys feel any better not having shineis my black2 cart died a few mnths back and took every pokemon i had for the last 10 years including about ten shinies since i traded for them alot with it. It was basically sheer luck that the shiny salamence aka my first shiny had a digital backup.

So I want to soft reset for an Adamant/Jolly Tyrunt. Do I have to save before I hand in the fossil or can I save right before I talk to the guy to pick him up?

its all done in one go now so save before he takes it off you

I declare today a non-pokemon playing day for me! Though I will probably end up playing it some today anyway...
Played it everyday since release culminating spending the entire day yesterday breeding a 3-team set of pokemon that went 0-8 in online battles last night.
Granted, I'm sure they aren't super maxed out 31s, still quite a bit disheartening. But that's what I get for building a team for fun instead of for winning.

Bah. Was hoping it was going to be one I can get relatively fast. I SR'd for Timid Bulbasaur and Adamant Torchic which only took about 20 mins each. Modest Froakie was a nightmare.... about 3 hours. Hope the trex isnt anywhere near as bad.

Well, My first and only Shiny was a Magneton, which i turned into a Magnazone... It had good IV/EV's and a SP.Atk Nature... I lucked out on him and he was awesome :D

Hes gone now but I used him through like 4 games.

I didn't know either until today. It appears rain is set in stone certain times of day certain days of the week. Preferable to the whole "it's always raining in Route 17" but annoying before we know the full schedule :<

I need to practice and I need to stock up on repels. I've had shit luck with it but maybe it's because I'm not good at identifying the "bush shaky-ness"

I did this a ton back in the day in an attempt to get a shiny mareep. Trust me, getting to chain 40 is not ez pz and you will screw up a few times before you finally get the method down
