Grats on the Eevee, I'm definitely jealous. I just discovered I'd gotten my first ever shiny days ago and hadn't even noticed while I was going though my boxes deciding what to give away...
Lols...
edit: OMG, I was trying out the Friend Safari and caught myself a shiny Noibat! Thank you Milliaria!

17hrs in with 2 badges. Finally started to play through rather than catch 'mon. Going to go through with the following: Frogadier, Venusaur, Lucario, Blaziken, Honedge, Kadabra.
Venusaur is going to be my HM bitch I think. Don't really care about him much.
@ Noibat
:O oh niiice.
I got Pokémon X over the weekend, woot!
Now I have like........40+ pages of stuff to read through. I need to figure out a few things. The Friend Code thingy, the "Natures", EV Training, and other Pokémon stuff & things. To this point I had always been a "casual" Pokémon guy, just catching stuff I want, leveling them, going through the game then calling it quits.
I've got my Honedge at least. And for some odd reason I seem to have an odd liking for Bird looking Pokemon. Combusken, Farfetch'd, Fletchinder, Golduck. I'm keeping the Farfetch'd as my "False Swipe" pokemon for when I'm out catching them all.
Combusken is too strong. Fletchinder I would end up replacing but it's worth always keeping because of the Egg hatching needs. Honedge is amazing as well.
I've never really toyed with Farfetch'd or Golduck.
I think I have a valuable post in here somewhere that details things about IV, EV, etc etc, but really that should be stuff you mess with after you beat the game.
Edit: I don't think Fletchinder is bad at all btw, I just found him largely less useful because I had too many fire mons.
Yes, I'm discovering I have too many fire types. And imagine my surprise when my Fletching evolves and gets Fire type added. I like keeping a flying type on my team. Always have. But I'm not sure Fletchinder is it. I'm sure wishing I could get my hands on a Hoothoot. I loved my Noctowl on HeartGold. Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Fly. Covered grass, fighting, and poison types in one Pokemon.
Lucky you guys and your shinies
Still need a JP Ditto personally! :< Also pulling around to my 5th badge. Trying to really tear through it this weekend.
YOU SAID THAT EARLIER AKIYAMA. YOU HAD A WHOLE WEEKEND AND GOT NOWHERE.
I meant to post this earlier but I was having fun in a different thread and I had to get my ass to work.
Btw, those of you who want easymode shiny pokemon, limited pool though (wait for the pun, wait for it...):
Fish chaining.
Requires a fishing rod, a good spot for your tushie, and a pokemon with Suction Cups as your 1st mon. It can be fainted and your 2nd pokemon can be the one that pops out.
Don't get "not even a nibble". You can faint or run away from the pokemon. So it's a little different from Poke Radar. Takes some practice but people are seeing great results. One guy has gotten 7 shiny pokemon in under 3 hours using this method.
Give it a shot.
There's detailed posts going around everywhere right now since it was discovered last nightish.
Edit: I know, lol GameFAQs but this was the guy who broke the news first.
The best part about this method is you can have your second mon have Syncronize and force the shiny to be the correct Nature. Tell me that isn't bitchin.![]()

He's been my favorite since I was a kid so BLAH.
What's the best place to grind post game? E4?
god dammit I love me some sea otters.
Insane: I'm assuming you're talking about high level pokemon. The fastest exp I've seen so far (due to not needing to walk and watch cutscenes and talk to people) is Restaurant Le Wow. Turn off battle animations. Give yourself exp boost if you can spare it.
